🔼 Connect Four. Wanna know what dominance looks like? Look no further than the OSU men’s cross country squad.

The Cowboys dominated the field at the Big 12 Championship this past Saturday with an individual and team championship for the eighth time in program history.

This is the fourth consecutive Big 12 team title and the staggering 13th championship in the last 16 years, all under Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith.

The Cowboys cleared No. 3 BYU by 30 points overall, with the OSU men scoring just 25 points on the day.

Freshman Brian Musau collected his first Big 12 title, becoming first freshman to win the Big 12 men's title since former Cowboy German Fernandez did so in 2008. In just his second career race for the Cowboys, Musau broke the Iowa State Cross Country Course record with his winning time of 22:46.6. His time was also the fastest cross country 8K in school history, surpassing Isai Rodriguez' time of 22:49.3 at the Big 12 Championships in 2020.

🔼 This One Was In The Making. Sometimes the journey, makes the prize even sweeter.

On the women's side, Taylor Roe took home her first career Big 12 championship on the grass after coming so close several times in her career, with finishes of second, third and second the past three season at the conference meet.

Roe is the first Cowgirl to win the Big 12 title in cross country in the 28-year history of the conference and first conference individual champion on the grass since Heather Garrett took gold at the 1989 Big 8 Championships, also in Ames.

Overall, the OSU women fell just short of their third straight conference title, coming up four points behind No. 4 BYU.

🔼 Prestige Worldwide. Senior Maddison Hinson-Tolchard is showing off. Not just here in Stillwater. Not just here in the States… but worldwide.

The Cowgirl capped a strong week representing Team Australia at the 2023 World Amateur Team Championship this past weekend, finishing tied for eighth as an individual.

Hosted at Abu Dhabi Golf Club from Oct. 25-28, Hinson-Tolchard carded an 8-under 280 to finish tied for eighth, while, as one of 36 countries in the field, Team Australia finished tied for sixth at 15-under 561.

For Team Australia, their placement marked its best since 2014, when they captured the Espirito Santo Trophy in Karuizawa, Japan.

After a par 72 in round one, Hinson-Tolchard skyrocketed into the top 10 on Thursday, carding the second-lowest round-two score in the field with a 6-under 66, surging Team Australia into a two-way tie for first to open round three. The Perth native's strong position never wavered in her two closing two rounds, staying firm in the top 10 with a pair of 1-under 71 efforts.

🤠 BEDLAM WEEK

There’s not too many words we have to say about this one, right?

We’re not sure if we’ll sleep all week, so when you’re up, what better way to hype you up for Saturday than reliving some of the greatest moments from the historic rivalry.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

The OG2 stats are ridiculous and on-going.

We could have about a trilion trivia questions about his recent performances this year, but we’ve tried to narrow it down to just one.

Over the past two games, OG2 has piled up 553 rushing yards, which is second all-time.

What’s the highest rushing yard total in a two-game span in OSU history?

Answer: 625 by Barry Sanders.

You guys didn’t think we were going the rest of this email without bringing up Barry again, right?
