Maddy Hinson-Tolchard committed to Oklahoma State in November 2019, just a month after finishing high school in Perth, Australia. However, she did not physically join the university until January 2021. During the intervening six months, Hinson-Tolchard remained at home, taking online courses offered by OSU and acclimating to the American academic system.

Despite the lockdown imposed in Australia during this time, she managed to maintain her golf skills by playing with her family. As a junior now, Hinson-Tolchard feels that college life is just as she anticipated when she first decided to come to the United States. She credits the challenges she faced during her freshman year with helping her to grow both as a golfer and as an individual.

Recently, she won both the team and individual titles at the Big 12 Championship and is now determined to use this momentum to secure a national title.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Arizona Iced Tea. The Oklahoma State men's tennis team earned a third-seed placement in the Arizona Region for the Division I Men's Tennis Championships, per the NCAA Monday.

In its first-round meeting, the Cowboys will face Florida Gators out of the SEC. The Gators finished the season with a 14-13 record, going 5-7 in conference play. At the SEC tournament, they defeated the then-No. 22-Auburn, 4-1, before falling to the No. 4-ranked Georgia Bulldogs, 4-0.

The Arizona Regional begins May 5 and goes until May 7, with match times to be announced.

🔼 T-Town Time. Winners of seven in a row, OSU is 30-13 overall and tied for second in the Big 12 standings with an 11-7 conference mark. Up next, the Cowboys travel to Tulsa for a midweek contest at Oral Roberts before hosting East Tennessee State in a weekend series at O'Brate Stadium.

• Ryan Folmar is in his 11th season as ORU's head coach and owns a 351-221 career record. Folmar was a four-year letterwinner at Oklahoma State as a catcher from 1994-97

• OSU is 37-40 all time against ORU, including a 5-12 mark under Josh Holliday. The Golden Eagles won in Stillwater by an 8-5 score on April 11.

• ORU is expected to start Joshua Caravalho on the mound against the Cowboys. The righty is 5-1 with a 3.18 ERA in 11 appearances (seven starts) and has 23 Ks and 19 BBs in 39.2 IP.

🔼 Going Carrolling. Oklahoma State wrestling signee Christian Carroll had a dominant showing en route to a U20 freestyle title at the 2023 UWW U20 National Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend.

The No. 1 pound-for-pound prospect in the country entered the tournament as the six seed at 125 kg, but proved to be the best in the bracket by a wide margin. In six matches, he posted five technical falls and outscored his opponents by a combined score of 61-7.

With the win, Carroll earned an automatic spot in the best-of-three finals at the U20 World Team Trials in June. He will face the winner of the trials for a spot on the U20 U.S. World Team.

🔼 Stanford Starting. The Oklahoma State women's tennis team will travel to Palo Alto, California for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championship, it was announced on Monday evening.

The Cowgirls will be making their 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament. OSU will match up with Denver in the first round of the tournament on Friday, May 5 at the Taube Family Tennis Center. On the other side of the bracket, No. 7 Stanford will take on Weber State.

The winners of the first two matches will advance to face each other on Saturday, May 6.
