🔺 California Dreamin’. The sun was shining a little brighter for OSU senior Jonas Baumgartner this week.

The OSU star fired a 66 in his second round and held onto the lead in the third round to bring home the individual championship at this week’s Pauma Valley Invitational in Pauma Valley, California.

Baumgartner helped the Cowboys earn a third-place overall finish at the tournament.

🔺 Give ‘Em A Baker’s Dozen. Might need to order a few extra lightbulbs at O’Brate.

The Cowboys lit up the scoreboard on Tuesday night for 13 runs and 14 hits, including an eight-run second inning to secure a mid-week victory over visiting Missouri State, 13-4.

Four different Cowboys hit HRs on the night, including three in the second inning alone. Five different players had multi-hit nights, led by Aidan Meola’s 3-for-4 evening.

🔺 Seeing Silver. OSU sophomore standout Winny Bii is heading back to Stillwater with a little extra hardware.

This week, Bii competed at the 13th African Games for her home country of Kenya. On Tuesday, she brought home the silver medal in the triple jump with a leap of 13.64 meters.

The 2024 Big 12 Champion and first team All-American Triple Jumper owns both the OSU school record and Kenyan national record in the event with her personal best of 13.72 meters, set at the Eagle Elite Invitational in Boston last month. Originally, the African Games were scheduled for 2023 but were subsequently pushed back to this year, allowing Bii to compete for her native Kenya.

Bii finished the indoor season ranked fourth in the NCAA in the Triple Jump and currently sits 32nd in the world as she will attempt to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games later this year.

After earning his second career victory this week, now is a perfect time to learn how Jonas Baumgartner ended up in Stillwater.
