🔼 Big 12’s Best. Oklahoma State women's golfer Maddison Hinson-Tolchard was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for April, the conference announced yesterday.

Despite being named the Big 12 Golfer of the Year in 2022, the honor marks the first monthly conference award of Hinson-Tolchard's career. She is the only Cowgirl to be awarded Golfer of the Month this season and the first since Lianna Bailey won the honor in April of 2022 following her individual win at the Big 12 Championship.

Just two days after the Big 12 Championship, the Perth, Australia native was one of twelve players named to the Arnold Palmer Cup field, where she will compete for the International Team in June.

Hinson-Tolchard finished April at No. 10 in the GolfStat Player Ranking, the highest of any Big 12 player, and has risen all the way up to 52nd in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

🔼 Vegas Victors. Oklahoma State's men's golf team was selected to compete at the Las Vegas Regional it was announced yesterday by the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee. The Cowboys will be the four seed at Bear's Best Las Vegas and will be one of 14 teams in action at the site. Overall, the Cowboys have qualified for the NCAA Championship in 74 of a possible 75 seasons.

🔼 Hall of Fame Hughes. Oklahoma State wrestling signee Cael Hughes was announced as the national winner of the 2023 Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on Wednesday morning. He’ll be honored at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame from June 2-3 in Stillwater as part of the Hall of Fame's 46th Honors Weekend.

🔼 Falling Short. Despite leading through four innings, the No. 7/6 Oklahoma State softball team fell to North Texas, 5-1, at Lovelace Stadium Wednesday evening. With the loss, OSU fell to 41-10 and UNT moved to 29-20. OSU looks to bounce back as it hosts No. 1/1 Oklahoma from May 5-7 in its final regular series season of the year. Each game of the Bedlam series can be seen on the ESPN family of networks and heard on The Varsity Network.

The previous record of 979.93 was set in 2017-18.

  • Men's and women's golf posted perfect scores of 1,000. For coach Alan Bratton's men's golf program, it marked the sixth consecutive year with a perfect score and the 13th time overall. Coach Greg Robertson's Cowgirl golfers achieved perfection for the third straight year.

  • Jacie Hoyt's Cowgirl basketball team set a program record with a multiyear APR of 991 and Mike Boynton's Cowboy basketball team fell just one point shy of matching its existing record of 980. The Cowboy football team's 976 was the third-best in program history.

Teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships, and every team at Oklahoma State is comfortably above that marker.

A special look back at the Gary Ward era of Oklahoma State Cowboy Baseball, and the "Decade of Dominance" for the Cowboys in the 1980s.

Gary Ward was Oklahoma State's head baseball coach from 1978 through 1996 and guided the Cowboys to an unprecedented 16 straight conference titles, 17 NCAA regional appearances and 10 trips to the College World Series. Seven of OSU's World Series appearances (1981-87) were in consecutive years, an NCAA record.

The Cowboys also appeared in the NCAA championship game three times under Ward. He compiled a record of 953-313-1 in 19 seasons in Stillwater, before retiring prior to the 1997 campaign. Ward's career record of 1,022-361-1 (.739) is 13th best all-time in win percentage and 24th in the NCAA record books in wins.
