Redshirt freshman and Stillwater native Cael Hughes flexed his muscles, literally and figuratively on Monday night at GIA.

Facing off against NC State’s Kai Orine, the seventh-ranked wrestler at 133, Hughes unleashed the biggest upset of the night, securing a reversal and pin for the victory.

After a historic season last spring, the fourth-ranked Cowgirls returned to the courts on Wednesday for the 2025 season opener and picked up where they left off, sweeping visiting Wyoming, 7-0.

OSU was powered by five players earning their first wins as Cowgirls while it extended its win streak in season openers to six.
