🔼 Seven UP. While they may have had a few weeks off for the holidays, their was no change in the results for the OSU wrestling squad.
Back on the mats at GIA, the third-ranked Cowboys dominated Air Force, 43-6, on Friday night to improve to 7-0 on the season.
Its the highest point total of the Coach Taylor era and marked the seventh straight dual that OSU reached 30+ points, marking just the third time in program history that the Cowboys started a season in such a way, the first since 1996-97.
Individually, Cowboy wrestlers have won 59 of 70 bouts in dual competition while compiling a 57% bonus rate.
🔼 And We Meet Again... Twice a year, the trio of Pokes in the AFC North get together for an epic battle.
This year, Tylan Wallace, Justice Hill and Jaylen Warren will make it three times as the former Cowboys are set to faceoff in the first round of the NFL playoffs.
The Ravens wil host the longtime rival Steelers on Saturday night at 8 pm.
🔼 Called To The Hall. Yet another Cowboy is joining the Hall of Fame ranks.
Jack Hartman, a 1950 OSU grad, became the fifth member of the Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame with OSU ties as he was announced as part of the hall of fame’s upcoming 2024 class late last week.
Hartman played and coached under Henry Iba before launching his own successful collegiate coaching career: first at Coffeyville Junior College, where he won the 1962 national championship, then at Southern Illinois, which he led to the 1967 NIT title, and finally at Kansas State, where he won three Big Eight regular season crowns and earned national coach of the year honors. Hartman also led the United States to a gold medal at the 1983 Pan American Games.
