🔼 Back to Boone. Oklahoma State football scored 29 second-half points but couldn’t complete the comeback in a 35-32 loss at No. 20 Houston. Drew Mestemaker threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns, while Caleb Hawkins added a career-high 125 receiving yards and a touchdown out of the backfield. The Cowboys moved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play and now return home to face Colorado on Saturday for America’s Greatest Homecoming.

🔼 Meet Sweep. Cross country swept the Weis-Crockett Invitational team titles for the third consecutive season, with the No. 2 Cowboys scoring 20 points and the No. 8 Cowgirls finishing with 19. Gentry Turner won her first collegiate cross country race in 21:09.1, leading five Cowgirls into the top seven. Henry Dover paced the men in second as the Cowboys claimed places 2-3-4-5-6.

🔼 Miss Moving On. Freshman Arina Malygina is into the ITA Central Regional singles semifinals after a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory over No. 100 Melisa Ercan. It was her second consecutive ranked win, and she now faces No. 117 Xin Tong Wang of Wichita State today at 9 a.m. A win would send Malygina to both the regional final and the NCAA Individual Championships.

🔼 Finishing Touch. Cowgirl golf begins play at The Fin today, with one round scheduled each day through Wednesday. Louise Depadt, Ellie Bushnell, Marta Silchenko, Summer Lee and Tarapath Panya make up the lineup, while Yu-Chu Chen competes individually in her sophomore-season debut. The Cowgirls enter their next test after winning both the team and individual titles at The Ally.

Today’s trivia question…

Caleb Hawkins nearly reached Oklahoma State’s single-game receiving record for a running back. Which Cowboy set that mark in 1968?
