🎙 LEADING THE WAY

The OSU Cowboys continue to find themselves among the best collegiate athletic departments in the country and a lot has to do with the leadership
of Chad Weiberg, the Director of Athletics.

Recently, he joined the “On The Fly” podcast to recount his rise from unpaid intern
to his current leadership role. The discussion goes on to cover the challenges
and strategic moves amidst Big 12 conference realignment and
the departure of Oklahoma and Texas.

Chad reflects on the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of 10 members of
the OSU basketball family, including his brother, 23 years ago, and how
the OSU community continues to "Remember the Ten."

He also delves into the changing landscape of college football, including the
future of the Bedlam rivalry, the recent College Football 'Super League' proposals
and House Settlement, and the widening gap in media rights revenues. The
episode concludes with insights on the broader implications of reforms and
the adaptability required to navigate ongoing changes in college athletics.

All of it comes down to this week for the OSU cross country and soccer programs as they enter Big 12 Championship week.

On Wednesday morning in Kansas City, the fifth-seeded Cowgirls will take to the pitch to kick off their quest for a Big 12 Championship when they take on the 12th-seeded Bearcats of Cincinnati at 11:30 a.m.

On Friday, both the Pokes cross country squads will toe the line in Waco searching for another trophy to add to the case.

🔼 Pro Pokin’. We’ve almost reached the halfway point of the 2024 NFL season and some of our former Cowboys are enjoying showin’ out on Sundays.

11 different former OSU players saw action in NFL games this week with three in particular continuing to shine for their squads.

Emmanuel Ogbah grabbed three tackles, including two TFLs in the Dolphins narrow loss to the Cardinals on Sunday. Through just six games this year, Ogbah has racked up 21 tackles, his highest single season total since 2021.

Mason Rudolph started his second straight game for the Titans, finishing 22-of-38 for 266 yards passing with one rushing and one passing TD on the day. The 266 yards passing was the fourth highest single game total of Rudolph’s pro career.

For the sixth straight week, Chuba Hubbard pounded the ground for the Panthers, finishing with 56 rushing and 15 receiving yards on Sunday. He now is on the cusp of 600 yards rushing with over half the season remaining.
