🎥 OSUMAX: BEHIND THE SCENES

Folks, we’re less than a week away from the return of Cowboys and Cowgirls hoops!

Last week, our squads took on Big 12 Media Days in Kansas City and
OSUMax was there to go behind-the-scenes as the Pokes previewed
the upcoming season, while having a little fun along the way.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Drive For Five. Leading the way from the front, OSU wrestling head coach David Taylor steps on the mat today for the first time at Senior World Championships in Albania.

A victory in Albania would only further cement Taylor's legacy as one of the best American wrestlers of all-time. He enters the tournament having won back-to-back World titles at 86 kilograms, which followed his first championship in 2018 and gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Taylor also brought home silver from the 2021 World Championships to give him five total medals on the international level.

The action kicked off this morning at 4:30 am in the qualifying rounds. Follow along with Cowboy Wrestling on X to keep up to date.

🔼 The Hunt Starts Today. The journey begins with a single step.

That first step happens this morning in Kansas City for the OSU women’s soccer squad, who takes to the pitch in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament at 9 am CST against the 12th-seeded Bearcats of Cincinnati.

🔼 Allow Me To Introduce Myself. New face Stacie Jones introduced herself to the home crowd in a big way on Tuesday night.

Jones, a transfer from Mercer, led the OSU women’s hoops squad in scoring as the Cowgirls rolled to a 81-46 exhibition victory over Southern Nazarene at GIA.

The Kathleen, Ga. native poured in 22 points to lead four Pokes in double figures. Joining her in double-figures was Anna Gret Asi (16 pts), Macey Huard (14) and Alexia Smith (13).

🔼 Seventh Heaven. When you pile up a record of 13-3-3 and put together a record-setting season, you’re bound to earn some well deserved praise.

On Tuesday, seven Cowgirls collected Big 12 accolades, the second most in program history behind 2011, including placing three on the All-Big 12 First Team, which is tied for the third highest total in program history.

🎙 LEADING THE WAY

The OSU Cowboys continue to find themselves among the best collegiate athletic departments in the country and a lot has to do with the leadership
of Chad Weiberg, the Director of Athletics.

Recently, he joined the “On The Fly” podcast to recount his rise from unpaid intern
to his current leadership role. The discussion goes on to cover the challenges
and strategic moves amidst Big 12 conference realignment and
the departure of Oklahoma and Texas.

Chad reflects on the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of 10 members of
the OSU basketball family, including his brother, 23 years ago, and how
the OSU community continues to "Remember the Ten."

He also delves into the changing landscape of college football, including the
future of the Bedlam rivalry, the recent College Football 'Super League' proposals
and House Settlement, and the widening gap in media rights revenues. The
episode concludes with insights on the broader implications of reforms and
the adaptability required to navigate ongoing changes in college athletics.
