🔼 Courageous Heart. Former OSU wrestler Ricky Stewart earned high praise this past weekend.

The former Cowboy was honored with the Medal of Courage by the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

As part of the Oklahoma Chapter's annual awards banquet, the Medal of Courage is given to a wrestler or former wrestler who has overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.

A two-time national champion and just the second four-time All-American in program history, Ricky Stewart ended his career as one of the top Cowboy wrestlers ever.

In December 2020, Stewart was faced with a challenge larger than any wrestling match he competed in. A gas explosion at Stewart's home in Texarkana, Texas, burned over 70% of his body, forcing him to spend eight months in an induced coma and lose a leg and fingers on both hands. Stewart credited the sport of wrestling for teaching him to never give up and on his release from Parkland Hospital in March 2022, over 100 people on two floors lined up to give him a standing ovation as he left the building.

Originally from Duncan, Oklahoma, Stewart was also honored with the Gallagher Award in 2023, the top award given by the Oklahoma State wrestling program.

🔼 Pro Pokes. He’s still got it folks.

Former OSU star Emmanuel Ogbah is off to his best start since 2021 with 18 tackles and two sacks in the first five weeks of the NFL season. He is just two tackles away from reaching his season total from last year with the Dolphins.

Fellow Poke Chuba Hubbard continued his hot streak as well, nearly posting his third straight 100-plus yard game for the Panthers, finishing with 97 rushing yards and his second rushing TD of the season. Over the past three weeks, Hubbard has 52 carries for 315 yards, good for 6.1 yards per carry.

🔼 Hot Start. Things are off to a hot start for the second-seeded OSU Cowboys at the annual Big 12 Match Play event this week at Houston Oaks in Hockley, Texas.

The Cowboys went unbeaten on day one, posting an impressive 3-1-1 victory over UCF in the morning session before drawing even with Kansas State in the afternoon at 2-2-1.
