🔼 Cruise Control. No. 22 Cowgirl basketball defeated East Texas A&M 97-59 to improve to 2-0! Haleigh Timmer led the Cowgirls with 22 points and six three-pointers. Amari Whiting was named the Standout Performer of the Game after nearing a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, plus a game-high four assists. She scored 11 points in the second half and was perfect at the free-throw line.

The Cowgirls will host Langston tonight at 6:30 p.m.

🔼 Semi On ‘Em. Cowboy edge rusher Wendell Gregory has been named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award! He is the only defensive player from the Big 12 to make the list. He leads all FBS freshmen with 10.5 tackles for loss this season.

🔼 First Of Many. Oklahoma State’s Zack Ryder earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after defeating Maryland’s Jaxon Smith at the NWCA All-Star Classic. This marks Ryder’s first Big 12 honor. Oklahoma State’s season opener is on Friday against Stanford.

🔼 Double Down. Cowgirls Stailee Heard and Lena Girardi received early-season recognition from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. Heard was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Watch List, while Girardi was named to the Tamika Catchings Award Watch List.
