🔼 Meet Us At The Mats. Showtime is officially here for the OSU wrestling squad.
Tonight, the 11th-ranked Cowboys hit the mats for the first time in 2023-24, hosting a fiesty Bucknell squad at GIA.
Under legendary head coach John Smith, OSU boasts an impressive 29-2-1 record in season openers and have lost just once since 1996. Oklahoma State has also won 23 straight home openers.
Leading the way for the Cowboys this year will be a pair of All-Americans in Dalton Fix and Dustin Plott.
🔼 But First… We Run. It’s tie to lace ‘em up again.
The top-10 ranked XC squads will hit the Stillwater course yet again today, this time against the regions best as OSU hosts the NCAA Midwest Regionals at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
The eighth-ranked Cowgirls will be the first to toe the course as their race gets start at 10:30, followed by the second-ranked Cowboys hitting the course at 11:30 a.m.
🔼 Alexander The Great. The Thunder From Down Under.
That’s what Alex Hale has brought ever since coming to Stillwater and this year is no different.
For the second time during his illustrious career, Hale has been named a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Place-Kicker Award.
The senior from Point Frederick, New South Wales, Australia is currently the FBS leader with 2.22 made field goals per game. He is the only kicker in the nation who has hit 20 field goals this season, and he has made three field goals longer than 50 yards in 2023.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: John Smith, of course!
We figured it’s been a long week, let’s toss you an easy one!
Smith is not only a legend in the coaching world, but he is the only Cowboy wrestler to win 150+ matches, totaling a 152-8-2 ledger during career. The next closest in total wins is a three-way tie at 128 with Alex Dieringer, Mike Farrell and Alan Fried.
🤠 Let’s have a great weekend, y’all!
