Cowboy Brew 12/16: Mat Masters

Cowboys Roll Past OU For 20th Straight Victory over Sooners

Good Morning Cowboys and Cowgirls. Frozen, the original musical had just been released in theaters. Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” was topping the charts. Tik Tok was still nearly three years away from being launched.

The year was 2013. That was the last time the OSU wrestling program lost a Bedlam match and that streak didn’t change this past weekend.

🎥 OSUMAX: TRADITION CONTINUES, PART II

The tradition of excellence on the mats at OSU goes back for decades and decades. That tradition was on display yet again in Norman on Friday night.

The newest faces of Cowboy Wrestling are hoping to add to those chapters and you’ll get to know some of those faces in Part II of TRADITION CONTINUES: A New Era for Cowboy Wrestling, which is now LIVE on OSUMax.

🔼 It Ends With STATE. Now that’s how you put an exclamation point on a record-tying streak.

The third-ranked Cowboys were dominant on Friday night, rolling past #21 Oklahoma, 35-3 for its 20th-straight Bedlam dual win, matching a series record set by OSU from 1969-78.

Oklahoma State won nine of 10 matches and, just as it has all season, extended the score through several bonus-point wins, doing so five times on Friday. In addition, the Cowboys have now surpassed 30 team points in each of their first five duals for the first time since the 1996-97 season.

🔼 Everyone Loves A Reese’s. America’s Brightest Orange goes perfect with Reese’s.

Late last week, a pair of Cowboys were selected as part of the prestigious 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl with defensive standouts Collin Oliver and Nick Martin officially accepting the invitations.

Both Oliver and Martin missed much of the fall season with injuries but will be healthy for the event in late January and game on February 1st in Mobile, Alabama.

🔼 All In The Family. One of our own is coming home.

Late last week, Coach Gundy announced the return of former OSU student-athlete and coach Doug Meacham, who will take over the role of the program’s offensive coordinator.

Meacham, who was an Oklahoma State offensive lineman from 1983-87, previously served on Oklahoma State's coaching staff from 2005-12 and worked with tight ends and inside receivers. He also worked as an OSU graduate assistant from 1989-91.

In his seven seasons as an FBS offensive coordinator, Meacham's offenses have averaged more than 440 total yards, more than 270 passing yards and more than 32 points per game.
