🔼 Rock Them Like A Hurricane. Although it was a short trip, the OSU men’s hoops squad made sure to pack their defense for their trip to Tulsa.
The Cowboys unleashed a defensive clinic on Wednesday night, picking up 16 steals and holding the Golden Hurricane to just 36-percent from the field en route to a 76-55 victory.
OSU improves to 5-2 on the season as they head into a tough test at Seton Hall on Sunday.
Tulsa native Bryce Thompson led four Cowboys in double-figures with 15 points on the night.
🔼 Ya Heard? Wednesday night’s opponent sure did!
It was a historic night for Oklahoma native Stailee Heard, pouring in 29 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help the Cowgirls to a dominant 93-39 victory over Houston Christian.
Heard was a perfect 7-for-7 from beyond the arc, setting a new single-game program record with the performance.
Ténin Magassa finished with 15 points and 10 boards for her first double-double as a Cowgirl.
🔼 Future So Bright We Need Sunglasses. Excitement around the OSU wrestling program is already pretty high with the Cowboys off to a 4-0 start in the Coach Taylor era.
That excitement got even more rampant on Wednesday when Taylor and his staff officially signed the second-highest ranked recruiting class in the country.
OSU leads the nation with eight signees ranked inside FloWrestling's Top 100 Big Board, a group that's spearheaded by blue-chip prospects LaDarion Lockett, Landon Robideau and Sergio Vega, who make up half of the top six overall spots. Of the 10 wrestlers in the class, six are in-state products while the others hail from Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Arizona and California.
🔼 Welcome To The Fam. The Cowboy Football family got a little bigger on Wednesday as Coach Gundy and staff announced the addition of 19 players in their early signing period.
The group includes eight defensive players and 11 offensive players. The two most well-represented states are Texas with 10 and Oklahoma with four. There are also two from Utah, one from Mississippi, one from Florida and one from Missouri.
Four defensive backs, three defensive ends and a linebacker comprise the defensive side of the ball, while five offensive linemen, four wide receivers, a running back and a tight end comprise the offensive group.
