Pokes Roll To Dominant Title At Cliff Keen Invite
Good Morning OSU Fam. Most people visiting Vegas leave without a less than they arrive.
On Saturday, the Pokes did the exact opposite leaving Sin City with more hardware than they brought to town.
What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

🎥 OSUMAX: TRADITION CONTINUES, PART II
The tradition of excellence on the mats at OSU goes back for decades and decades.
The newest faces of Cowboy Wrestling are hoping to add to those chapters and you’ll get to know some of those faces in Part II of TRADITION CONTINUES: A New Era for Cowboy Wrestling, which is now LIVE on OSUMax.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Jackpot. With a field that included seven top-10 teams and 14 ranked teams in total, it was clear by the end of the Cliff Keen Invitational that the Pokes sent a message.
The third-ranked Cowboys rolled to the team title at the prestigious event, led by individual titles from Wyatt Hendrickson (heavyweight) and Dean Hamiti (174).
OSU routed the field, earning 192 team points and coming up just short of the record 198.25 points set by Oklahoma State in 1983. The Pokes claimed an impressive 25 bonus point victories at the event. The Cowboys outscored second-place Nebraska by 77 points and won 50 total matches with 31 of them against ranked opponents and 18 coming against Big 12 opponents.
The Pokes placed all 10 wrestlers and had no wrestler finish lower than fifth place. OSU had only placed all 10 at this event three prior times in 1983, 1988 and 1999.
🔼 Walked The Plank. If you’re going to walk the plank, might as well do it as a team.
That’s exactly what the OSU men’s hoops squad did on Sunday in New Jersey, using a total team effort to pick up a tough 85-76 road win at Seton Hall in the BIG EAST/Big 12 Challenge.
Robert Jennings II and Jamyron Keller scored 14 each to lead a balanced OSU box score. Brandon Newman (13 points), Abou Ousmane (13) and Arturo Dean (11) also finished in double-figures, and Khalil Brantley tacked on nine points with eight assists.
The Cowboys shot 56.9% from the field, including over 60% in the first half against a Seton Hall team that entered the day ranked third nationally in scoring defense, previously limiting its opponents to 56.6 points on 38% shooting.
🔼 He Just Keeps Running. After earning two straight All-American accolades on the cross country course, you might think that Brian Musau would take a little bit of a break.
The sophomore sensation did the exact opposite with yet another record-setting performance.
In the indoor season opener, Musau hit the track and set a new school record in the 5000m with a time of 13:11.29. Not only is it the fastest time in program history, it’s the eighth fastest all-time in the NCAA.
He wasn’t the only Cowboy breaking records as Laban Kipkemboi broke the program record in the mile (3:54.73), which is the 25th-fastest time in NCAA history.
🔼 History Continues. It wasn’t just on the mat and track that the Pokes were setting new records.
The records were shattered on the court as well as the OSU women’s hoops squad rolled to a 9-1 ledger with a dominant 125-49 victory over Alabama State on Friday night.
It was a record night for the Cowgirls, who set new program records for points (125), points in a half (69), points in a quarter (36), margin of victory (76), assists (33) and 3-pointers (20).
Oklahoma native Stailee Heard continued her red-hot play with a career-high 32 points, along with 10 rebounds, while Micah Gray added 25.
Anna Gret Asi scored 16 points, while Macey Huard added 13 and Jones had 12.
