🔼 They’re Backkk. Plenty of new faces, both on the field and on the sideline, was part of opening day of Spring Ball for the OSU football program on Tuesday.

The Cowboys strapped on the helmets and went to work for a two-hour, non-padded opening day of a spring season that will build towards an exciting 2025 campaign this fall.

🔼 We’ll Take That W. The OSU baseball squad used a big fourth inning to spark a midweek victory over Wichita State on a beautiful Tuesday night at O’Brate Stadium.

Brayden Smith had a huge day at plate, going 3-for-5 with a HR to lead the Pokes past the Shockers, 9-5.

Smith extended his hitting streak to nine games, while Colin Brueggemann added three RBIs and Jayson Jones drove in two runs himself and extended his own hitting streak to nine games.

Mario Pesca earned the win in relief, pitching two shutout innings and not allowing a hit to improve to 2-0, while Sean Youngerman recorded the final five outs, two via strikeout, to earn his fourth save.

Matthew Brown made his first collegiate start on the mound for the Cowboys after appearing in three games as a reliever. The freshman right-hander pitched three innings, striking out three while allowing two runs on three hits.

🔼 Among The Elite. The wrestling world is still buzzing about Wyatt Hendrickson’s performance this past weekend at the NCAA Championships.

On Tuesday, Hendrickson was named a finalist for the 2025 WIN Magazine/Culture House Dan Hodge Trophy, presented annually by ASICS Wrestling to the nation's top NCAA Division I wrestler.

He is one of three finalists for the honor alongside Penn State's Mitchell Mesenbrink and Carter Starocci. The criteria for winning the award are record, dominance, bonus-point percentage, quality of competition and sportsmanship.

A fan vote will be counted toward the tally to determine the winner and can be found here.

Hendrickson completed his final collegiate season with a perfect 27-0 record and national title at heavyweight.

🔼 Double Trouble. After a dramatic Big 12 series victory this past weekend, the OSU softball squad took home not one, but TWO Big 12 Conference weekly accolades.

🔼 Star Of The Show. For the second time in her star-studded career, Anastasiya Komar was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Tuesday.

This past week, Komar helped lead OSU to back-to-back victories over top-40 opponents, going a perfect 4-0, including two ranked wins herself.

The Belarus native is now 10-5 in singles and 13-2 in doubles on the season while extending win streaks to five in both over the weekend. She currently sits at No. 81 in the ITA singles rankings and No. 39 in the doubles poll.
