🔼 Get Your Popcorn Ready. Consistency was the key for the OSU women’s golf team on day two of a rain-soaked NCAA Regional in Gold Canyon, Ariz.
An even-par, 288 has the Cowgirls sitting in second place overall, just four strokes behind first-place Oregon heading into today’s final round.
Most importantly, the Cowgirls (currently 1-under par) are 21 strokes ahead of sixth-place Cal State Fullerton. The top-five teams will advance to next week's NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, Calif.
Three Cowgirls are among the top 10 on the individual leaderboard, led by sophomore Marta Silchenko, who fired a round two score of 69 (-3) to finish the day in a tie for third place -- nine shots back of Oregon's No. 3 Kiara Romero.
Grace Kilcrease, the nation's 35th-ranked golfer, carded a 2-under 70, to grab a share of fifth place. The junior has finished at-or-below par in 18 of her 34 rounds this season. Ellie Bushnell went bogey-free over the final 15 holes to finish 1-over for the day and in sole possession of 10th on the leaderboard.

🔼 Raising The Bar. And the standard continues to rise.
OSU set an athletic department record with an all-sports average score of 985.8 on the Academic Progress Rate (APR) multiyear data, released on Tuesday by the NCAA. The previous record was 981.1, set in 2021-22.
The OSU football, baseball, wrestling and men's golf teams set their individual program records, with women's basketball setting its second-best mark and men's basketball, women's cross country and women's track and field all establishing their third-best marks since the APR reporting began in 2004-05.
The APR holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
🔼 Weekend Workers. While most of us spend the weekends trying to catch up on things around the house or maybe find a little time to rest, the OSU track & field squads use that time to kick it in to high gear.
This past weekend, the Pokes produced a slew of impressive marks with competitors battling at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz. and the SMU Invitational in Dallas.
Freshman phenom Zeddy Chongwo continued her strong season at the SMU Invitational with a first-place finish in the women's Long Jump. Her 6.28 meter winning mark is good for second best all time in Cowgirl history. Impressively, Chongwo has placed third or higher in the Long Jump in each of her first five meets as a Cowgirl.
