Today, we're preparing for the Pokes to travel to Norman this weekend to compete in the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

📈 STOCK UP

Overall, the Cowboys and Cowgirls have won three of the four Big 12 championships contested so far this year, with the women's cross country and track & field program looking to become the first school in the Big 12 era to complete the conference triple crown on the women's side.

  • On the men's side, the Cowboys return a pair of Big 12 Champions outdoors in Alex Maier (5,000 Meters) and Fouad Messaoudi (1,500 Meters). Both distance runners will attempt to defend their Big 12 titles this weekend. The pair have combined for seven Big 12 titles across all three seasons in the past calendar year after they each won a pair of conference titles indoors in February along with Maier's Big 12 Cross Country title back in October.

  • On the women's side, Taylor Roe is the only defending champion outdoors returning for the Cowgirls in the 1,500 Meters to go along with her 5,000 Meter conference title indoors. The junior from Washington is looking to add to her total of six conference championships in her illustrious career.

Competition begins Friday morning at 7 a.m. CT with the women's and men's championship 10,000 Meters, followed by the first half of the Heptathlon and Decathlon competitions. The Big 12 Outdoor Championships will be streamed live in its entirety on Big 12 Now on ESPN+, with the finals of the running events starting at 5 p.m. CT.

🔼 Postponing Pokes. Inclement weather forced the postponement of No. 8/8 Oklahoma State softball's game versus Kansas in the first round of the 2023 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship.

With two outs and two Kansas baserunners on in the top of the fourth, Big 12 Conference officials called made the decision to postpone the remainder of the contest.

The Cowgirls and Jayhawks will conclude their first-round matchup tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT with KU holding a 3-1 lead.

🔼 Summer Season. Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will cap its summer with a three-game tour of Italy and Greece in August it was announced yesterday.

Head coach Jacie Hoyt's squad will make its way across the Atlantic Ocean on August 1 before returning home August 11th. The Cowgirls' trip will take them to Rome, Sorrento and Athens with three games against opponents to be determined at a later date.

🔼 Time Change. Due to a forecast of inclement weather, Oklahoma State has moved the start time for Saturday's game against Kansas State at O'Brate Stadium to 1 p.m.

Friday's opener remains a 6 p.m. first pitch, while the series finale on Sunday also stays at 1 p.m.

All three games in the series will air on ESPN+.

🔼 Home Hosting. OSU is 33-14 overall and tied for second in the Big 12 standings with an 11-7 conference mark. Up next, the Cowboys host Kansas State in a weekend series at O'Brate Stadium in their final home games of the regular season.
