🔼 Stillwater Seeding. Oklahoma State softball has earned the No. 6 national seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host the Stillwater Regional. With a 41-14 record on the season, the Cowgirls are poised to make a deep run in the tournament.

Led by head coach Kenny Gajewski, the team boasts a powerful offense and a strong pitching staff that will be sure to keep opponents on their toes. Fans can catch the Cowgirls in action at Cowgirl Stadium as they look to advance to the Super Regionals.

🔼 Postponing Pokes. Oklahoma State track & field added three more individual champions as it concluded the Big 12 Outdoor Championships on Sunday in Norman, Okla.

  • Billah Jepkirui and Fouad Messaoudi swept the 1,500 Meter races while Gabija Galvydyte brought home her first individual Big 12 title in the 800 Meters. On the weekend, four athletes were crowned the best in the Big 12, with Victor Shitsama winning the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase on Saturday. This is the second consecutive season where multiple Cowboys and Cowgirls earned an individual conference title in outdoor competition.

As a team, the Cowboys finished the tournament sixth overall, with the Cowgirls taking home fifth.

  • Jepkirui got the day started on a high note by comfortably taking the top spot in the 1,500 Meters in 4:15.74 to become an individual outdoor conference champion for the first time. Jepkirui wraps up her impressive freshman conference season as a three time Big 12 champion, spanned indoors and outdoors. Jepkirui contributed 10 of the 24 points the Cowgirls scored in the event, as all five Cowgirls competing added team points.

  • Messaoudi immediately followed that performance by defending his title in the 1,500 Meters by edging out Iowa State's Ezekiel Rop down the final stretch. After setting the facility record in Saturday's preliminary round, his 3:36.59 finish bests Saturday's time, while also setting the Big 12 championship record. It's his fourth career Big 12 title across indoor and outdoor competition, further establishing himself as one of the best in the Big 12. Alex Stitt joined Messaoudi on the podium, finishing third with a time of 3:42.47.

  • The Cowboy 4x400 Relay squad put up the fourth-fastest time in OSU history at 3:06.01 and finished fourth in the competition. On the women's side of the 4x400, the Cowgirls tabbed the seventh-fastest time for OSU with a 3:36.51 finish and a fifth-place finish.

The Cowboys and Cowgirls now press onto the NCAA West Prelims in Sacramento, Calif., running from May 24-27.

🔼 Beat ‘Em Bad. They did it again. They won another series. Pretty good, huh? Let’s dive in.

It started with a loss. Oklahoma State's late rally came up short in a 10-9 loss to Kansas State in Friday's series opener at O'Brate Stadium.

They didn’t waver and bounced back to even things. Oklahoma State recorded its most runs in a game against Kansas State in over two decades Saturday, taking down the Wildcats, 19-5, at O'Brate Stadium to even the three-game series.

Finally, they finished the job in a dominant fashion. Oklahoma State took down Kansas State 12-2 in seven innings in its final regular season home game Sunday at O'Brate Stadium.

The victory marked the 13th-ranked Cowboys' seventh run-rule win of the season as they advanced to 35-15 overall and 13-8 in the Big 12. The loss moved the No. 15 Wildcats to 32-20 and 12-9 in the league.

Oklahoma State will conclude regular season play with the Bedlam Series against Oklahoma in Norman. The series opens Thursday at 6:30 p.m., with Friday's game also at 6:30 before a 4 p.m. finale on Saturday.

🔼 Roster Building. With more than 1,300 career points scored at the college level, Jarius Hicklen is joining the Oklahoma State men's basketball program, it was announced yesterday.

A 6-foot-3, 170-pound graduate of DeSoto HS in the Dallas area, Hicklen played his first two years of college ball at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee before transferring to North Florida for the last two seasons. He comes to Oklahoma State with a year of eligibility remaining.

He averaged 16.2 points per game on 45.0 percent shooting from the field, 40.3 percent shooting from three-point range and 77.8 percent shooting from the free throw line as a sophomore at OBU. In his two seasons at North Florida, he averaged 12.2 points per game, shot 38.1 percent from beyond the arc and was at the very core of the Ospreys' attack.

Jarius Hicklen adds to a 2023 Oklahoma State recruiting class that garnered a top-10 national ranking from 247sports (No. 8), Rivals (No. 9), and ESPN (No. 10) even before his arrival.
