What all do we have stirring in today’s Brew? Check it out below!

👟 Runnin’ Wild
⚾️ Welcome Cowboy
⏱️ Countdown To Kickoff
🤠 And much more!

⏱️ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 7️⃣0️⃣ DAYS

70 days away from kickoff..

Sometimes, you need to give a little love to the kickers, right?

7️⃣0️⃣ is the school record for consecutive PATs made in a single season by
former OSU standout Matt Amendola, when he connected every attempt
during the 2017 campaign for the Cowboys.

In his career, Amendola drilled 179 PATs, good for third all-time in program history.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Runnin’ Wild. For the first time since 2014, the OSU men’s track & field and cross country squad earned a second-place finish in the final U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Program of the Year Standings.

The Cowboys placed eighth in cross country, fifth in indoor track and tied for 11th outdoors. The second-place finish with 25 points is the second highest in program history, just behind their 23-points, second-place performance during the 2013-14 season.

Under the direction of Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith, the Cowboys have now placed inside the top five on five separate occasions, including each of the past three seasons. OSU's fifth-place finish indoors was the program's highest since 1965 and the 11th -place finish outdoors was the program's best since 1984.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Standings are calculated by adding up the combined finishes of each program's cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field placements at the NCAA Championships.

🔼 Welcome Cowboy. It’s tough to replace a legend, but a resume like Blake Hawksworth’s sure helps.

The former MLB pitcher and coaching veteran comes to Stillwater after serving the last two seasons as pitching coach at Oregon, where he led a pair of record-setting pitching staffs for the Ducks.

A native of Canada who hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Hawksworth has spent over two decades playing and working in a variety of roles in professional and college baseball. Along with time spent as a big league pitcher and MLB agent, he has also been in charge of collegiate pitching staffs at Cal State Fullerton and Grand Canyon and served on staff at UC Irvine.

Hawksworth has coached 15 MLB Draft picks, 10 all-conference performers and three All-Americans in his four seasons as a collegiate pitching coach.

🙌 STATEMENT MADE

The Bedlam Series is calculated by straight wins and losses in head-to-head competition.

While Oklahoma State and Oklahoma have been in competition for more than 100 years, the all-sports Bedlam Series did not come into existence until the 1999-2000 academic year. In the 26 years since, OSU owns a 14-11-1 advantage over OU.

The 2024-25 season marked the first year in which the two schools competed in different leagues, but the overall results remained in line with what became the norm prior to OU's move to the Southeastern Conference. Oklahoma has beaten Oklahoma State in all-sports Bedlam just once in the last 12 years, with OSU winning 10 and the two teams splitting the title in 2022-23.
