🔼 Major Statement. The OSU men’s golf program wasn’t the only Pokes golf program making a statement this week.
Former Cowgirl Maja Stark made a MAJOR statement in Wisconsin over the weekend, becoming the second former OSU women’s golfer to win a major championship.
The 25-year-old Stark entered the day in first place with a one stroke advantage over the field and proceeded to dominate Erin Hills, winning by three strokes over second-place Nelly Korda and Rio Takeda. Stark carded a final round of 72 (E), capping off the week at 7 under par.
With just a one-shot advantage heading into the back nine, Stark turned on the gas and fired two birdies in five holes to extend her lead to three strokes, a lead she would never come close to surrendering.
The win is Stark's first U.S. victory, adding to her already impressive six Ladies European Tour titles. She becomes the third Swedish professional golfer to become a U.S. Women's Open Champion.

🔼 The Oregon Trail. No, no, we’re not talking about the old school computer game.
This time, we’re talking about the OSU track & field squad who will be hitting the trail next week in preparation for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
10 different Pokes, five Cowgirls and five Cowboys, punched their tickets this past weekend at the NCAA West Prelims in College Station, Texas.
The Cowgirls will send five women to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with Kaylie Politza (800 Meters), Isca Chelangat (5,000 Meters), Josphine Mwaura (10,000 Meters), Emma Robbins (Hammer Throw) and Annie Molenhouse (Heptathlon) each qualifying in their respective events.
The Cowboys will be represented by Alex Stitt (1,500 Meters), Brian Musau and Fouad Messaoudi (5,000 Meters), Denis Kipngetich (10,000 Meters) and Blair Anderson (Long Jump).

🔼 Fought To The Wire. If you had fingernails before the weekend, they're surely gone after watching the gritty OSU baseball team.
The Cowboys showed heart until the very end, fighting all the way into the NCAA Regional in Athens, falling to Duke, 3-2, on Sunday night, to complete their 2025 season.
OSU reached 30 wins with a dramatic comeback over #7 Georgia in the loser’s bracket final, getting two HRs in the bottom of the ninth on Sunday afternoon. Kollin Ritchie and Brock Thompson each hit two-run home runs in the ninth, with Thompson's opposite-field shot to left field providing the walk-off win.
In the four regional games, the Cowboys blasted 14 HRs.
