🔼 Rank and File. For the fifth time since 2016, the Cowboys are headed into a season with a national ranking next to their name.

On Monday, the Associated Press released its preseason Top-25, which had OSU slotted 17th.

The Cowboys are the second-highest ranked Big 12 team in the opening poll of 2024 and are joined by conference members Utah (No. 12 ), Kansas State (No. 18), Arizona (No. 21) and Kansas (No. 22). Iowa State, West Virginia and Colorado also received votes in the poll.

🔼 Two Of A Kind. The rest of the world is seeing what most of us in Stillwater already knew - Collin Oliver and Nick Martin are special.

This week, the defensive duo was named to the 2024 Bednarik Award Watch List, which highlights the county’s top defensive player.

Martin and Oliver are two of 13 players representing the Big 12 Conference and make Oklahoma State one of 18 schools with multiple players on the list. The duo was also selected to the Bronko Nagurski watch list earlier this summer.

🔼 Country Pride. She hasn’t stepped foot on the court for Oklahoma State women’s hoops program, but she’s already showcased her skills on the global level.

Incoming freshman Maria Anais Rodriguez and her Spain team brought home silver medals from the U18 Eurobasket Championship over the weekend.

Rodriguez is not a stranger to the stage as she also helped Spain reached the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship back in 2022.

🔼 Hardware Haul. Sometimes, you just have to keep grinding.

For former OSU standout Peter Uihlein, that was the mantra that led him back to the winner’s circle this past weekend on the Asian Tour at the International Series.

Uihlein ran away with an impressive showing, topping the rest of the field by seven strokes.

It’s his fourth professional victory and first since 2021. Previously, he’s had one victory on the DP World Tour and two on the Korn Ferry Tour. In the LIV Golf League, he has come close to winning on multiple occasions, having finished second four times.

⏱ COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 18 DAYS

Number of the Day: 18

Entering the 2024 season, OSU has 18 consecutive
winning seasons and 18 straight bowl appearances.

The 18 straight seasons with a winning record ties Coach Gundy for
the eighth-longest streak at one FBS school in college football history.
Two more of those seasons would make him one of just six
head coaches to reach 20+.
