speak to the team following the 45-10 win over Tulsa.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 The Gunslinger. When you toss for five TDs in a game, you garner some national recognition.
The veteran gunslinger Alan Bowman tossed for 396 yards on 24-of-31 passing, while tying a career-best with five TDs. He previously threw five TD passes in a game for Texas Tech against Texas in 2020 and Houston in 2018.
For his performance, Bowman earned a spot on the Davey O’Brien Great 8, was named the Manning Award Star of the Week, grabbed a ESPN College Football Final Helmet Sticker and was honorable mentioned for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week accolade.
🔼 A New Seat. Coming off one of the best seasons in program history, OSU Director of Tennis and women’s tennis head coach Chris Young has a new seat.
This week, Young was selected as the chair of the NCAA Tennis Committee for the 2024-25 season.
Young began a second term as a member of the committee on Sept. 1, with it set to last through 2028. The committee consists of 12 highly-regarded school and conference administrators within the sport of tennis that are tasked with seeding, bracketing and managing the NCAA Tennis Championships.
In 15 years at Oklahoma State, Young has compiled a coaching record of 269-112 (.706), 13 winning seasons and 12-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. He has also collected an ITA Indoor National Championship, five Big 12 championships and an appearance in the NCAA title match in 2016.
🏈 SATURDAY SHOWDOWN
This weekend, there are only two games in the entire country that feature a top-15 matchup and one of those kicks off at 3 pm at Boone Pickens Stadium when the 12th-ranked Utes of Utah visit Stillwater to do battle with the 15th-ranked Cowboys.
It is just the second meeting all-time between the two historic programs with the first coming back in 1945 when then-named Oklahoma A&M traveled to Salt Lake City to dominate Utah, 46-6, en route to a Sugar Bowl victory and an AFCA National Championship.
Both Coach Gundy and Utah coach Kyle Whittingham are in their 20th season as head coaches, but have never faced off against each other.
