Countdown to Kickoff: 61 Days
🤠 And so much more!

✈️ COWGIRLS IN PARIS

Prior to this year, only two former OSU women’s track & field athletes
had ever earned a spot at the Olympic Games.

Well, let’s go ahead and double that number.

Over the weekend, fomer Cowgirls Chase Jackson (USA) and
Ieva Gumbs (Lithuania) both punched their tickets to the
2024 Olympics Games in Paris later this summer.

Jackson won the US Olympic Trials in the shot put, while
Gumbs won the Lithuanian Championships in the discus.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 61 DAYS

Number of the Day: 61.

How can you not show some love to someone who
busted their tail to earn their spot?

That’s exactly what #61 Jake Springfield has done ever since he stepped on campus in Stillwater and in August of 2020, the former walk-on earned his rightful scholarship.

He enters 2024 with 40 career starts on the Cowboy offensive line,
the most starts by any player on the 2024 roster.

And oh yeah, he keeps it going in the classroom as well being named
a four-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Welcome To Cowboy Country. The 2024-25 OSU men’s hoops squad got a little bigger last week.

Coach Lutz announced the addition of West Virginia transfer Patrick Suemnick, a former NJCAA All-American, to the program.

Suemnick, a 6-7 forward, was a versatile and efficient contributor for the Mountaineers in 2023-24, appearing in all 32 games with six starts. He shot 54% from the field and -- in league play -- ranked third among Big 12 regulars in offensive rebounding percentage (13.8%) and seventh in fouls drawn (4.7 per 40 minutes).

Suemnick averaged 4.1 points for the year but was at his best against the nation's best, putting up 8.5 points on 65% shooting in eight games against AP top-25 opponents. He scored 20 and 16 respectively in upsets of No. 3 Kansas and No. 25 Texas.

🔼 Earning His (Stars &) Stripes. The only thing hotter than the weather this summer is OSU baseball star Nolan Schubart.

Whether its in the Cape Cod League or wearing the stars and stripes, Schubart has been EN FUEGO.

As a member of the Team USA Collegiate National team, Schubart launched two HRs over 420+ ft in the summer league tour for the prestigious squad.

🏆 AND IT ENDS WITH STATE!

Now that’s how you make a STATEment.

For the ninth time in the last 11 years, Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma
in the all-sports Phillips 66 Bedlam Series and this time, it was
of historic proportions.

The final score of 21-9 marked the largest margin of victory for either
school in Bedlam Series history. Before this year, the most lopsided all-sports Bedlam Series score came in 2020-21, when OSU was a 23-12 winner.

The Bedlam Series is calculated by straight wins and losses in head-to-head competition. In sports where there is no head-to-head matchup, the
Big 12 Championship final standings are used.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

As we mentioned, prior this summer, only two former OSU women’s track & field athletes had ever earned a spot at the Olympic Games.

Before Jackson and Gumbs locked down their spots this past weekend, who were the only other two Cowgirls to earn Olympian status.
