🔼 Don’t Call It A Comeback. Two veteran presences for this year’s Cowboys squad are turning heads and earning respect.

Redshirt senior Alan Bowman and redshirt sophomore Jaden Bray were both named to the Comeback Player of the Year Watch List this week.

Bowman spent time at Texas Tech and Michigan before landing in Stillwater this fall and has taken over the starting role under center role for the Orange and Black. The Grapevine, Texas native has thrown for nearly 800 yards in his five games, including back-to-back weeks of 235+.

Bray battled injuries last year, but returned to the field this fall to lead the team in receiving with 292 yards, nearly 100 more than any other receiver on the team. The Norman, Oklahoma native has 50+ yards in four of OSU’s five games this year.

🔼 Bronze Cowboys. After a tough Tuesday in west Texas, the OSU men’s golf squad responded with some vengeance on Wednesday on the final day of the Big 12 Match Play Championship.

The Orange and Black earned a hard-fought 3-2 win over Houston to claim third place at the three-day event in Hockley.

🔼 Bounce Back Time. After three straight tough 1-0 road losses, the Cowgirls futbol squad returns to Neal Patterson TONIGHT to host Big 12 newcomer, BYU, who is currently ranked #8 in the country.

Despite not scoring in three consecutive games, the Orange and Black still rank in the top-40 in the country in goals per game and have displayed their potent offense throughout the campaign.

OSU has had 12 different goal scorers this fall with sophomore Logan Heausler and junior Hannah Chance leading the way with seven apiece.

🔼 Marching On. Facing the top-seeded Baltimore Orioles in the American League Division Series, former Cowboy Andrew Heaney toed the rubber in a jam-packed Camden Yards earlier this week.

The lefty helped the Rangers set the tone and Texas needed just three game to sweep the Orioles and earn a spot in the 2023 American League Championship Series.

This marks the second straight postseason for Heaney, who also was on the Dogers’ roster for the NLDS last fall.

Heaney and the Rangers now await their ALCS opponent between the Astros and the Twins.

🏈 HAWK HUNTING

Same energy. Same effort. Same place.

Coming off last Friday’s thrilling home win over Kansas State, the Cowboys are back at a sold-out BPS this weekend when the 23rd-ranked Jayhawks of Kansas come to town.

Nick Martin, Cameron Epps and the defense will have its hands full as Kansas is coming off a 51-22 home win over UCF and is averaging nearly 38 points per game.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

The Cowboys and the MLB have a storied tradition together with many former OSU stars having standout careers.

Southpaw Andrew Heaney and his Texas Rangers earned a spot in the 2023 ALCS this week, sweeping the top-seeded Baltimore Orioles.

This is Heaney’s second straight postseason as he pitched with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year. However, they did not advance to the league championship series.

Who was the last former Cowboy to participate in a MLB league championship series?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Tyler Lyons.

Something about those southpaws! Lyons, a ninth round draft pick in the 2010 MLB draft out of OSU, had one appearance in the 2019 ALCS for the New York Yankees against the Houston Astros.

🤠 Enjoy your Thursday, Cowboys and Cowgirls!
