No one knows the generosity of Boone Pickens then former Cowboys themselves and that’s exactly what Deion and Clint reflect on in this week’s edition of the Old Pokes Show.

They go in-depth about what the latest gift means to the athletic department and University, as a whole, while also tracking former alums on the course and the court.

🔼 What… A… Year. We tried to reflect on it yesterday, but man, does this past year deserve another look back!

46 All-Americans. 23 Big 12 Individual Champions. 6 Big 12 Champions. School Record 10 Academic All-Americans.

It marks the first time since the standings were created that the Pokes finished in the top-25 nationally in three straight years. The Learfield Directors' Cup honors institutions having success in all sports in which the NCAA offers a championship, along with FBS football. All sports are weighted equally.

Because Oklahoma State does not sponsor women's volleyball and does not get credit for its performance in equestrian, it has only 17 sports eligible for Learfield Directors' Cup scoring, while most others count points from 19 sports. Operating with a two-sport handicap, Oklahoma State has still finished in the top 25 nationally in each of the last three years and has finished in the top three of the Big 12 in each of the last five years.

🔼 Eye On the Prize. Despite being thousands of miles away, incoming freshman Eric Dailey Jr., Coach Boynton and the Team USA U19 squad are hoping to set off a few fireworks a little early this year.

Team USA will take on Japan in the quarterfinals of the FIBA U19 World Cup Championships today at 11:30 a.m. with a berth in the semifinals on the line. The semifinals (Saturday) and finals (Sunday) will take place this weekend in Hungary.

Dailey Jr. has scored in double figures in all four of Team USA’s victories so far in the tournament. In his 68 minutes of total action in the World Cup, he scored 43 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, snagged five steals and blocked four shots. He’s shot 52-percent from the field over that span.

Fans can follow all the action from the FIBA U19 World Cup at fiba.basketball/world/u19/2023 and watch every game live and on demand at youtube.com/FIBA.

Before the bracket stage began, OSU Max sat in as Dailey and Coach Boynton (Team USA assistant) talked about the experience and what it’s meant for them to share this time.

🔼 The American Dream. “It’s truly everything a little girl can dream of.”

That’s just one of the sentiments that Cowgirl standout Kelly Maxwell shared with OSU Max as she prepares to represent Team USA in next month’s 2023 WBSC World Cup.

Maxwell and the top-ranked Americans compete in group stage action from July 11-15 in Dublin, Ireland. The other nations in Team USA's group are Chinese Taipei, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland and Botswana.

🔼 Summer Spots. 16 Cowboys. Five different Leagues. Lots of Lots of baseball.

As some of our Cowboys prepare for next month’s MLB draft, many others are preparing for a run back at another Big 12 title by playing against some of the best in the nation.

We’ve got 9 in the Cape Cod League, four in the Northwoods League, and one each in the Valley, West Coast and Appalachian Leagues.

Keep up with them all summer long!

🔼 Tick, Tick, Tick. You know that saying about a watched pot never boiling? Yeah, well, we’re there. We’re salivating for kickoff!

Get your tailgate menus ready. Get your gear lined up. And make sure you have the tickets.

Cowboy football will be here before we know it!

🔼 A Must Read. Many folks around OSU and Stillwater know just how great Viktor Hovland is, not just at golf, but in life.

This year, Hovland is letting the world see his talents on the course, but his personality and heart off of it.

This feature from Golf.com is a MUST READ on our guy. And if you can’t read it now. Bookmark it for later.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 64 DAYS

Entering last season, senior Sean Michael Flanagan had registered just 24 career tackles for the Cowboys.

In his final year with the Orange and Black, Flanagan went out with a bang, ranking fifth on the team with 64 tackles on the season, including 1.5 for a loss and also tallied three pass breakups.

Twice last year, the Charleston, Ark. native tallied double-digit tackles (11 at TCU, 10 vs. Iowa State).

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

This past year was truly a historic one for the Cowboys with so many achievements across so many sports.

This spring, OSU was one of only nine schools in the country to have each spring sport advance to the NCAA Tournament in their respective sport.

Two of those sports hosted regionals with baseball and softball, both hosting regionals in Stillwater.

How many different schools hosted regionals in both baseball and softball this spring?
