🔼 Among The Elite. The rest of the country has found out what the Orange & Black faithful knew.
Ollie Gordon II is special.
This week, OG2’s incredible season earned him a spot as one of just three finalists for the 2023 Doak Walker National Collegiate Running Back Award.
A three-time Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week and four-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, Gordon leads the FBS in nearly every major rushing category, including rushing yards (1,580), rushing yards per game (131.7), 100-yard rushing games (8), 150-yard rushing games (5), 200-yard rushing games (2), 250-yard rushing games (2) and carries of at least 30 yards (14), 40 yards (7) and 70 yards (2). He is second in rushing touchdowns (20), total touchdowns (21) and all-purpose yards (1,852).
Gordon is joined as a Doak Walker Award finalist by North Carolina's Omarion Hampton (1,442 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns) and Missouri's Cody Schrader (1,499 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns).
🔼 Bigger Than Hoops. Tomorrow night at GIA is far more than just a basketball game between high-level programs.
OSU is teaming up with Creighton to help put a full court press against cancer with a special “Survivor Night” presented by the Eddie Sutton Foundation. The two teams, both of which were coached by Sutton during his storied career, square off at 8 p.m. CT Thursday.
Established in memory of Sutton, who died in 2020, The Eddie Sutton Foundation raises funds for valuable research needed to fight cancer and impacts the lives of those who currently fighting through awareness nights at OSU sporting events.
Thursday night's game also provides both schools with a special opportunity to reflect on Sutton's legacy and the impact that he made on their respective men's basketball programs. Sutton started his hall of fame career at Creighton (1969-74) and coached for 16 years in Stillwater (1990-2006).
