🎧 OSU MAX PODCASTS
Who better to break down the upcoming season’s football schedule, walk us through an action-packed fall, and even give some win-loss predictions than two former Cowboys?
Deion Imade and Clint Chelf are back in the latest edition of the Old Pokes Show with a great discussion about the upcoming year at Boone Pickens and maybe even some predictions on this weekend’s US Open.
(Don’t ask Deion about his golf game yet, though… it’s still a work in progress.)
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Call To The Hall. Former Oklahoma State baseball star Matt Hague got quite a phone call recently as he was announced as part of the latest class into the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame. He was part of the 2008 that went 44-18 and hosted a regional, and he’s now a hitting coach with the Buffalo Bison—a Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The former Cowboy is the modern era career leader in batting average (.342) and on-base percentage (.416) with the Bison. In 2015, as a member of the Bison, he was named International MVP after he hit .338, 92 RBIs, 33 doubles, and 70 runs scored.
Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2008 and also joining the Toronto Blue Jays in his career, he played in 43 MLB games. He’ll be formally inducted during a ceremony on Saturday, July 1st.
🔼 Miller The Pillar. Very few people have a presence like Oklahoma State legend Terry Miller. Not only did he shine on the field for the Cowboys, he was and still is an even better ambassador the Pokes.
On Saturday, October 14, he will receive one of the truly great honors in program history when he becomes the fourth member of the Cowboy Football Ring of Honor. The two-time All-American will join the esteemed group of Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, and Bob Fenimore.
In his collegiate career, Miller played in 43 games, totaling 871 carries for 4,754 rushing yards, 49 rushing touchdowns, 5.5 yards per carry and 110.6 rushing yards per game. He is still the only player in OSU history to finish his career with three 1,000-yard rushing seasons, and he ranked fourth in career rushing in NCAA history following his final season.

🔼 Beware Of This Pair. Transitioning to college isn’t easy, well, it’s not supposed to look as easy as Cowboy baseball standouts Carson Benge and Nolan Schubart made it look this spring.
This week, the duo was named to the 2023 NCBWA Freshman All-America Second Team.
Nolan Schubart was among the Big 12 Conference's top hitters, hitting .338 to go along with 20 doubles, 17 homers and 74 RBIs. The Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team outfielder, Schubart ranked in the top 10 in the conference in eight offensive categories.
Carson Benge batted .345 with 17 doubles, seven HRs and 43 RBIs. He was also went 2-2 on the mound for the Cowboys. The All-Big 12 First Team honoree was named a semifinalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 79 DAYS
With just over five minutes left in the first half, Tulsa QB G.J. Kinne dropped back and looked to get his team in the end zone and make it a two-score game.
But Andrew McGee had other plans, picking off and scampering 79 yards to set up another OSU score en route to a dominating 65-28 home victory for the Cowboys back on Sept. 18, 2010.
The 79 yard-return still ranks in the top-10 all-time in program history for longest INT returns and McGee went on to have an incredibly inspiring career at OSU.
Later in 2010, McGee would suffer two cracked vertebrae, an injury that would end some people’s entire football career. But not McGee, as he came back, a year later and helped OSU build the program to what it is now.
McGee is now back in Stillwater, using his education and story to inspire others. Once a Cowboy, Always a Cowboy.
