🔺 Friday Night Fights. No better way to kick off the new year than a big time Friday night showdown.

The undefeated OSU wrestling squad takes on its third consecutive road test, facing off against #4 NC State in Raleigh tonight.

Former Cowboy standout Pat Popolizio leads the Wolfpack, who take on the Cowboys for the first time since 2018, when the two programs made history, competing in Naples, Italy for the first-ever NCAA wrestling dual held overseas.

🔺 Weekend Work. After sweeping Wednesday night, the Pokes return to the courts this weekend for two nationally-ranked Saturday afternoon showdowns.

First up, the Cowboys host 18th-ranked Baylor for the Big 12 opener for both squads with tip-off at GIA set for 2 p.m.

The women hit the road for a second straight Big 12 contest, battling 23rd-ranked and 14-1 TCU in Fort Worth at 4 p.m.

🔺 The Wizard of Woz. After a historic season on the ground, the man behind the running backs room is getting the recognition he deserves.

Assistant Coach John Wozniak was named Big 12 and National Running Backs Coach of the Year.

While tonight is the first time since 2018 that the Cowboys have taken the mat against NC State, there’s a bit of a history between the two programs.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: OSU leads 7-1.

Oklahoma State and NC State have only met eight times over the years, with OSU holding a 7-1 advantage in the series. The two programs have wrestled three times since Coach Popolizio took over as head coach at NC State, but this is their first meeting since 2018.

Oklahoma State took each of the first six matchups in the series, holding NC State to single digit points each time until 2015, when the Cowboys narrowly picked up a road win, 20-12. The series now returns to Raleigh, where Oklahoma State has won both meetings, including a dominant 40-0 showing in 1999.

🤠 Let’s have a great weekend, y’all!
