🔼 Tougher Than The Rest. Not one… not two… but three Cowboys earned a spot in tonight’s finals in their respective events with big-time performances last night in Austin at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Fouad Messaoudi started the night by punching a ticket to the finals in the 1500m, clocking in at 3:39.74. He will enter tonight’s event (8:12pm ET) with the nation’s top time of the spring (3:35.16).
Immediately following that, Victor Shitsama punched his ticket in the 3000m steeplechase. It will be his second career NCAA final after earning a spot in the 10,000m finals in 2021.
Rounding out the tickets to tonight’s finals events was Mehdi Yanouri in the 800m.
Finishing up the night in the 10,000m finals, senior Isai Rodriguez posted a top-five finish to earn All-American status with a season best of 28:15.48.
🔼 Two-For-Tuesdays. Jonas Baumgartner and Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen earned their stars and stripes this spring when the duo received All-America recognition earlier this week.
Both players received Honorable Mention honors on the 2023 NCAA Division I PING All-American Teams. With their selections, the Cowboys now have 194 All-Americans in program history.

During her time in Stillwater, she was a two-time All-American and three-time All-Big 12 selection.
🔼 Racing In The Street. Tonight, it’s the Cowgirls’ turn to take the stage at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

🔼 “Show A Little Faith, There’s Magic In the Night.” Only two wide receivers in college football history have twice won the Biletnikoff Award—given annually to the best college football wide receiver. Good ol’ No. 81 Justin Blackmon is one of those two and he’s back on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame ballot.
It’s the second straight season he’s been on the ballot and he is one of the youngest candidates up for the honor this year.
The Cowboys have seven representatives in the College Football Hall of Fame, the latest coming in 2022 with the induction of former OSU star Terry Miller.
🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 86 DAYS
The year was ‘86. A young freshman quarterback rolled into Stillwater and took over the duties behind center. His name? Mike Gundy.
How did he start his college career back in 1986? Only by throwing 138 straight passes without an interception—an NCAA record that stood until 2008. He went on to help the Cowboys win two bowl games (1987 Sun Bowl, 1988 Holiday Bowl) during his playing days.
