📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Midweek Madness. No. 3/3 Oklahoma State softball now officially has their best record in school history through 40 games after the Cowgirls won 6-0 over UT Arlington last night at Cowgirl Stadium.

With the win, the Pokes have improved to 37-3 (and it bears repeating... the best record through 40 games in program history!) as UT Arlington fell to 16-20.

The Cowgirls resume Big 12 play this weekend as they matchup against Iowa State. Fans can stream each game of the three-game series on ESPN+ or listen on The Varsity Network.

🔼 Run It Back. Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has announced the addition of Ashley Davis, who will make her return to Stillwater as a member of head coach Jacie Hoyt's coaching staff.

A member of the staff at OSU for six seasons, Davis makes her return as an assistant coach after spending the past two campaigns as an assistant at Arizona. This past year, she helped the Wildcats to their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth and the program's fifth consecutive 20-win season. Arizona was ranked for the entirety of the year, climbing as high as No. 12.

🔼 Carrington Cowgirl. Oklahoma State's women's tennis team has added a blue-chip transfer for the 2023-24 season with the signing of Safiya Carrington. The Massachusetts native will make her way to Stillwater as a graduate transfer after spending four seasons at Louisiana State University (LSU).

She holds a 53-46 record in singles action and a 44-45 record in doubles while ranked as high as No. 57 in singles and No. 37 in doubles in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings. She is a two-time second team All-SEC selection and a three-time second team All-Louisiana selection. In 2022, she was named a SEC Player of the Week and was also selected to the 2021 SEC Newcomer team.

🔼 Welcome Addition. Eric Dailey Jr., a top-50 national recruit and gold medal winner for the USA Basketball Under-18 National Team, signed with Oklahoma State yesterday, choosing the Pokes over reported offers from Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan, and other prominent programs.

When he committed, he cited his relationship with head coach Mike Boynton as a key factor. Dailey and Boynton won gold together for Team USA at the FIBA U18 Americas Championship in the summer of 2022. And Dailey's mother, Shell, was an assistant coach for the University of South Carolina women's team while Boynton was a point guard for the Gamecock men.

Oklahoma State's 2023 recruiting class garnered a top-10 national ranking from Rivals (No. 9) and ESPN (No. 10), marking the second time since 2020 that Boynton and his staff have attracted a top-10 national class to Stillwater. 247sports ranks the OSU class No. 11 nationally, which is the highest ranking ever achieved by the Cowboys since the publication began its team rankings in 2011.

🔼 Golden Era. Oklahoma State multi-events athlete Bailey Golden was named Big 12 Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Jim Click Shootout this past weekend, the conference announced Wednesday.

Golden broke the school record in the Heptathlon with her score of 5,805 points, which ranks second in the NCAA and sixth in the world this year. In the process, she set new personal bests in the High Jump, Javelin, 200 Meters and 800 Meters.

With her score, Golden has likely earned a ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas, from June 7-10.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 24

The Cowgirls notched two first-inning runs, which marks the 24th time this season OSU has scored in the first inning. That means that in 60% of games, they've put up runs the first chance they got. For those playing at home, that is very, very good.

Have a fantastic Thursday, y'all.
