⚾ Previewing Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma
🤠 And much, much more
🎧 OSU MAX PODCASTS
Rachel Becker spent the first four years of her college softball career playing shortstop for Purdue. While there, she set the school record for career runs and earned All-America honors. She decided to transfer to Oklahoma State for her Covid season and compete with veteran Kiley Naomi for her position, earning the start at second base.
It was a move she was happy to make and a challenge she easily accepted. She’s been an integral part of the Cowgirls defense. However, she will tell you her biggest impact is made at the plate. Becker only has a handful of games left as a college player. She plans on continuing her softball career in the Women’s Professional Fast Pitch league where she was as second round draft pick back in April.
But before she focuses on the pros, she has one more thing she hopes to accomplish—helping the Pokes be as successful as they can be.
📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Sizing ‘Em Up. Coming off a share of the regular season championship, Oklahoma State baseball is set to begin Big 12 Championship play today against Oklahoma. The Cowboys are the No. 2 seed and first pitch is set for 4:00pm CT sharp. The Pokes are making their 24th appearance at the Big 12 Baseball Championship, and owns a 35-41 all-time record in the tournament—including a 22-14 mark under Coach Josh Holliday.
🗣️ Reasons To Cheer
Oklahoma State owns a .307 team batting average. The last time the Cowboys hit .300 or better in a full season was in 2010 when they hit .307.
This year’s pitching staff shattered the program record for strikeouts in a season with 679, besting the previous mark by 91. The Cowboys' 679 strikeouts ranked fifth nationally, and they ranked seventh in the NCAA in strikeouts per nine innings at 10.7.
Six regulars in the OSU starting lineup are hitting at least .300. Tyler Wulfert leads the way with a .355 average that ranks sixth in the Big 12, while Roc Riggio is right behind him in seventh at .354.

🔼 Hang Ten. Oklahoma State baseball saw 10 players celebrated with All-Big 12 status for this past season, highlighted by (you guessed it) Nolan Schubart and Tyler Wulfert.
Nolan Schubart was named the Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year and also collected All-Big 12 First Team plaudits and a spot on the Big 12 All-Freshman Team—Tyler Wulfert was selected as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and a member of the All-Big 12 Second Team.
The Pokes earned 12 all-conference accolades in 2023, bringing the program's total selections to 221, the most of any program in league history.
🔼 Hard Fought Match. Oklahoma State's standout doubles team of Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez saw its run at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship come to an end in the round of 32—the Cowgirls dropped a hard-fought match against Wake Forest's Anna Brylin and Brooke Killingsworth, 6-7 (5), 7-5, (7-10).
With both sides going toe-to-toe thought the first to force a tiebreaker, Wake Forest battled back to take the last four points to secure the set. The Cowgirls did not let the deficit deter them in the second set after winning three straight games to force a third set.
The two pairs went back and forth throughout the entire third set but ultimately the Demon Deacons took the match in the 10-point tiebreaker.
The Oklahoma State duo finished with an impressive 14-3 mark on the season with a 6-1 record in conference play.
