🔼 Amateur Ace. If this summer has taught us anything, it’s that the Pokes are FOR REAL on the golf course.

Rising senior Dillon Stewart joined in on that summer golf success for the Cowboys taking home the top spot at the Colorado Golf Association Amateur Championship this past weekend.

Stewart birded two of his final three holes to secure one-shot victory at 4-under at the RainDance National Golf Course

🔼 Best Of The Best. This week, the Big 12 announced its Athlete of the Year and the nominees for each school

Earning the honor for the Orange and Black was Fouad Messaoudi of men’s track and field/cross country teams and Madison Hinson-Tolchard of the women’s golf squad.

Messaoudi had a historic 2023-24 season, finishing with All-American honors in the 1500m, while also earning Academic All-America honors, thriving in the classroom. He was a Big 12 Individual Champion and also set a program record, all in the 1500m.

Hinson-Tolchard captured her second consecutive Big 12 Player of the Year accolades after capturing the Big 12 Championship and finishing in the top-10 seven times in 11 tournaments played. She was the conference’s first back-to-back player of the year in 10 years and just the fifth all-time.

🤠 ICYMI….

🔼 Powering Through Poland. Not one, not two, but three members of the OSU family shined on the mats among some of the world’s best grapplers.

Fix, a 2021 World silver medalist, brought home the gold medal at 61kg, including a 6-3 victory over longtime rival Austin DeSanto.

Plott wrapped up his showing at the event with an incredible 10-0 technical fall in the bronze medal match, piling up his 4-1 record on the weekend.

🔼 Lights, Camera, Action. Before camp starts back up, the fellas jumped in front of the cameras, showed off the pearly whites and had a little fun at last week’s media day.

🔼 We need that Rosetta Stone ASAP. Hey, so, we might need to download some translation apps or hit the Rosetta Stone real quick….

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 32 DAYS

Is there anywhere else to turn with good ole #32?

Walt Garrison was an All-Conference selection, an NFL running back, a Super Bowl Champion and most of all, he was a Cowboy.

At OSU, Garrison piled up over 2,500 all-purpose yards and 16 total touchdowns in three seasons playing on the offensive side of the ball.

As a junior, his first full season playing in the backfield for OSU, he led the Big Eight in rushing, in front of all-time great Gale Sayers.

Upon graduation, Garrison had a nine-year NFL career in Dallas where he played in the Cowboys' backfield from 1966-74 under head coach Tom Landry. He was a member of the 1971 World Champion Cowboys team, was named to the All-Pro team in 1973 and was the 1972 Pro-Bowl selection after rushing for 784 yards with seven touchdowns during the season. Garrison retired with 3,886 career rushing yards and 1,794 receiving yards, which, at the time, ranked third and fourth respectively in all-time Dallas Cowboys history.

He was the first player from OSU to appear (1971) and win (1972) a Super Bowl.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

This past spring, our Cowgirls marched their way to OKC for a fourth straight year.

It set a new program record with four consecutive trips to the Women’s College World Series.

In fact, it’s pretty rarified air nationwide.

How many teams total (including OSU) have made the College World Series in each of the past four seasons?

Think you got it?

🎥 OSU MAX

122 career matches at OSU.
117 career victories.

We’re not the best at math, but we’re pretty sure that’s a solid winning percentage.

And that’s just a small bit of the success that Daton Fix put together during his illustrious Cowboy career.

He was the 2021 World Silver Medalist, he’s the 15th wrestler in OSU history to be named an All-American four times, and this past weekend, he won gold at the prestigious Poland Open.

Let’s rewind with OSU Max to a historic night at the Bout at the Ballpark back in February.
