🎥 OSU MAX

From Texas Tech in 2018 to Tyler Junior College in 2021 and finally Stillwater in 2022, linebacker Xavier Benson has had an interesting college football experience.

In his three on the field seasons in college Benson has 253 tackles. In his first season in Stillwater, Benson tallied 76 tackles, which is the most from any returning defender in 2023.

His first season as a Cowboy taught him several lessons that he hopes fuels himself and the team this season.

🔼 New York, New York. While the Cowboys were preparing for the upcoming season, they found out one of their future opponents.

Notre Dame and Auburn will face-off in the other side of the bracket with the Cowboys facing one of those two teams in the second game of the weekend.

🔼 For The Kids. Before getting their work in on the mat this week, some of the Cowboy wrestlers headed to nearby Sangre Ridge Elementary to spend time with some of their students.

A morning of reading and giving them positive vibes to start the school year was a great way to start the day for all involved! We love seeing our athletes working in the community!

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 22 DAYS

Growing up less than an hour from Stillwater, Jeff Roberson knows what it means to wear the Cowboy uniform each and every day.

Roberson’s last year also taught him that lesson in valuing every day in the Orange and Black as he was forced to sit out all season with an injury.

Now, he returns this fall, wearing a new number: #22.

The redshirt junior provides valuable depth for the linebacker units and is an asset to the special teams area as well.

Entering 2023, Roberson has played in 16 collegiate games for OSU, recording four tackles in those contests.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

Taming the Bears. OSU returns in three weeks when the Cowboys host the Bears of Central Arkansas, an FCS program that has put together quite a decade of success.

This year’s matchup is the second time these two programs have faced off with the other coming back in 2015, a 32-8 Cowboy victory in early September.

In that contest, Mason Rudolph reached a career milestone.

What milestone happened that day in Stillwater?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 400+ yards passing.

In that 2015 contest against Central Arkansas, Rudolph set a then-career high with 401 yards passing. It was the first time Rudolph eclipsed 400+ yards in a single game.

It was a feat that Rudolph would then go on to do nine more times, including a current program record of 540 yards against Pittsburgh in 2016.

🤠 Have a great Friday, ya’ll!
