🔼 Howdy Neighbor. Tonight begins a busy weekend for the Cowgirls futbol squad as they host the first of back-to-back Big 12 games with Kansas (tonight at 7 pm) and Kansas State (Sunday at 1 pm) visiting Neal Patterson this weekend.

The Orange and Black enter tonight’s matchup red hot, having won seven of their past eight contests, and have outscored their opponents 31-6 this season. The 31 goals rank fourth nationally.

Twelve different Cowgirls have scored goals this season, with eight of those finding the back of the net multiple times.

Nine OSU players have recorded assists, led by Alex Morris and Laudan Wilson's five apiece. In 2022, no Cowgirl had more than three assists on the 19-game season; this season, four Cowgirls have already surpassed the three assist mark.

🔼 Steady as a Rock. With the 85th Jamboree just a few days away, the Cowgirls and Cowboys squads continue to find themselves amongst the nation’s best.

In the second national poll of the season, OSU held steady with the guys ranked #2 and the girls #3 as they prepare for another quest through the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course this Saturday.

Races will start with the women's 6K at 8:15 a.m. CT.

🔼 RED Hot. Not sure if CES is a fan of Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, but it seems he may be drinking some of it as he is swinging a blistering hot bat for the Cincinnati Reds right in the middle of a race for a playoff spot.

He’s hit three HRs in the past four games and in his past 15 games, CES is hitting .327 with four HRs and eight RBIs for the Reds, who with 11 games remaining sit just one-game back of the final NL Wild Card.

🔼 Wilsssoooonnnn (Tom Hanks Castaway Voice). Most freshman in college need a transition period to adjust to new surroundings.

Apparently, Laudan Wilson isn’t like most freshman as the newcomer has been outstanding in her debut season for the Cowgirls.

This past week, Wilson was named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week, and she also earned spots on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week and the College Soccer News Women's National Team of the Week.

In helping lead OSU to a pair of wins, Wilson recorded a goal and three assists in 161 minutes of action. Her five points tied for the most of any Big 12 player last week.

Wilson turned in a record-setting performance in her first-ever Big 12 game as she tallied assists on three of the Cowgirls' four goals in a win at Iowa State. The three assists tied a program record as she became the eighth OSU player to achieve the feat and first since 2011.

🔼 All Together, Moving Forward. Coming off four straight trips to the WCWS, the bar continues to be raised by the OSU Cowgirl softball program.

It may be the fall, but the Orange and Black are preparing for another deep run next spring and that preparation included an afternoon with the Program, a Leadership Institute that works with elite level organizations.

Take a look inside a day with the Cowgirls.

🏈 OFF TO AMES

🔼 Cowboy Comeback. “It's not about how many times you fall down. It's about how many times you get back up”

After this weekend’s tough 33-7 home loss to South Alabama, the Cowboys will be looking for a bounce back opportunity in a big way to kick off Big 12 conference play.

First up? A trip to Ames and a Saturday afternoon date with the Cyclones of Iowa State.

🎥 OSU MAX: MY TIME

What a weekend it was for JB!

The former Oklahoma State star wide receiver joined the list of Hall of Honor inductees on Friday night.

Then on Saturday night, the two time Biletnikoff Award joined his other 2023 inductees on the field at Boone Pickens Stadium as Orange Power VIPs.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 21.

OSU is 15-11-4 all-time against KU and is a perfect 6-0 against the Wildcats for a combined 21-11-4 ledger against the Kansas schools.

The Cowgirls have won back-to-back meetings with the Jayhawks and all six showdowns against K-State, a series that started back in 2017.

🤠 Enjoy your Thursday, Pokes!
