Three of our leaders were on the mics yesterday as Coach Gundy, Coach Smith and Coach Hoyt all reflected on their teams seasons so far and looked ahead at what’s to come.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 In Good Company. There are roughly 200+ PGA Tour golfers each year that battle through tournaments all over the world.

Only five of that group are named finalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award given to the 2023 PGA Tour Player of the Year. ✌️ of those five finalists this year are Cowboys.

Viktor Hovland and Wyndham Clark were among the group named finalists earlier this week by the PGA Tour.

The Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards are determined by a member vote, with PGA TOUR members who played in at least 15 official FedExCup events during the 2022-23 season eligible to vote.

The winners will be announced in January at The Sentry, the first event of the 2024 FedExCup season as the PGA TOUR returns to a calendar-year schedule.

In the first true road test of the season, the Cowboys had two shots in the final minute to pull out a tough victory, but couldn’t connect and fell in a tough 70-68 decision at Southern Illinois.

Javon Small had his second straight 20+ point performance, pouring in 25 points to lead the Orange & Black offensively.

🎳 HEADED TO HOUSTON

The sixth-longest active bowl streak in the country is set to take on the Texas Bowl for the second time in program history.

On Sunday, the Cowboys were selected to take on Texas A&M on December 27th at NRG Stadium in Houston. Game time is set for 8 p.m.

It will be OSU's fourth bowl game played in Houston, as the Cowboys have a 2-1 bowl record in the city with appearances in the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl, the 2002 Houston Bowl and the 2019 Texas Bowl.

The 2023 Texas Bowl marks the 29th meeting between Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, with the series dating back to 1913. The teams played each other every year as members of the Big 12 Conference from 1996-2011 and faced each other twice before in bowl games, including a 1981 Independence Bowl matchup and a 2019 Texas Bowl matchup. The Cowboys have won four of the past five meetings between the two schools.
