🔼 They’re Baackkk. That’s right, the reigning Big 12 Champion OSU cross country squads returned to Stillwater this week to take on training camp in preparation for the upcoming 2023 season.
Last season, both squads defended their titles and will be looking to do so again this fall against a tough Big 12 field.
We are just 1️⃣5️⃣ days away from the season opener on Friday, Sept. 1st at the OSU Cross Country Course here in Stillwater.

The No. 1 pound-for-pound prospect of 2023 claimed his spot in Jordan with a dominant victory at the World Team Trials in early June. There, Carroll received a bye into the best-of-three final series already secured thanks to his U20 National Title in April. He made quick work of seventh-seeded Aden Attao in the series, winning both bouts by a score of 10-0, with the second victory coming in just 17 seconds.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 16 DAYS
In all honesty, we just wanted to find a reason to use this incredible football card from the 1950s.
That man, Alex Loyd is a record holder here at Oklahoma State. You’re thinking sacks, tackles, something along those lines.
Nope. Receptions!
That’s right, playing both sides of the ball Alex Loyd set a program record with 16 catches in a home matchup against Kansas in 1949. That single-game record still holds strong to this day.
Loyd went on to be drafted in the 15th round of the 1950 drafted and played one season, both at defensive end and at wideout for the San Francisco 49ers.
🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA
The First Of Many. Over the past 20 years, the Oklahoma State women’s soccer program has surged to become one of the best in the country.
Two Elite Eight runs, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and seven Big 12 Conference Championships.
It’s an impressive run fueled by incredible players and people.
Over that span, six different Cowgirls have earned All-American accolades, including four that earned the honor on multiple occasions.
Which former Cowgirl was the first to earn All-American status?
Think you got it?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Yolanda Odenyo.
Odenyo was an unbelievable talent for the Cowgirls, earning All-American honors three different seasons, including her first in 2006, which marked the first time any OSU soccer player had been recognized nationally.
The Orange and Black faithful have a chance to honor her next month as she is one of six being inducted into the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.
🤠 Have a great Thursday… and see you tonight at Patterson Stadium!
