🏈 WELCOME TO COWBOY COUNTRY!

There’s no replacement for experience.

Experience is one of many things that Sean Snyder is bringing to the Cowboys coaching staff this fall as Coach Gundy announced him as the new punters and kickers coach for the 2024 season.

Snyder comes to Stillwater after most recently serving as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Kansas for the 2023 season, where he also played a role in assisting the Jayhawk's special teams unit.

"Sean brings years of experience with kickers and punters and special teams concepts," Gundy said. "We're really excited about what he brings to our coaching staff."

Prior to his season in Lawrence, Snyder spent the 2022 season as the special teams coordinator and specialists coach at Illinois, and he was the special teams coordinator at USC in the two seasons before that.

📓 HEAD OF THEIR CLASS

With a national championship and some of the best performances in recent history on the track, it was truly a banner year for the OSU cross country & track & field programs.

That success wasn’t limited to the competition as it extended into the classroom.

This week, both the Cowboys and Cowgirls were each named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams.

This marks the 15th straight year for the Cowgirls and the 13th straight year for the Cowboys being named All-Academic teams under Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith. Between the men's and women's programs, Oklahoma State has been named All-Academic teams in 30 of the 31 combined seasons coached by Smith.

A combined 22 athletes were named USTFCCCA All-Academic athletes, with 16 on the women's side and six on the men's side. Overall, the Cowgirls finished with a team-wide GPA of 3.65, a new program record, surpassing the previous best of 3.61 in 2022.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 42.

Sanders returned the opening kickoff of the 1988 season for a touchdown and scored on a punt return in the second game of the year against Texas A&M. Every other TD that year came on the ground for the all-time great.

🤠 Enjoy your day, OSU Fam!
