Good Morning Pokes. It’s not supposed to look this easy, right?

Through the first three games of 2023-24, the rest of the country is seeing what the Cowgirls knew they were getting in Stailee Heard.

After a breakout first week, the Oklahoma native earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors. Now, she’s joined the latest episode of Kickin’ It With Q.

🎥 OSU MAX: KICKIN’ IT WITH Q

Stailee Heard entered her freshman season at Oklahoma State as one of the more decorated players in the state of Oklahoma. 

The Sapulpa native, finished her high school career with two state championships and was Vype Oklahoma Miss Basketball. The talented guard, who early on in her Cowgirl career is leading the team in field goal percentage and is second in scoring.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Empire State of Mind. After a historic night from long range earlier this week, the Cowboys are headed to the Big Apple.

In the 85-70 win over Sam Houston State on Sunday night, OSU knocked down a single-game record tying 17 3-pointers in front of the Orange & Black faithful at GIA.

Now, they’re headed to the City That Never Sleeps to take part in the Legends Classic alongside three perennial NCAA Tournament contenders.

First up for OSU is a Thursday evening showdown with St. Bonaventure, a longtime power in the Atlantic 10 and always a tough mid-major opponent, followed by a battle with Auburn or Notre Dame.

Through two games, senior guard Bryce Thompson continues to lead the way, averaging 18.0 points a game, while shooting 54-percent from the field.

🔼 (A New) Home Is Where The Heart Is. While she grew up and lived her entire life in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Ivy Rosenberry always had family ties back to Oklahoma.

Her mom’s family is from Ardmore, so it’s only natural that the hurler landed right here Stillwater as part of the OSU softball program.

After starting her career at Virginia Tech, Rosenberry went through obstacles and resiliency, but bounced back and has landed at a place that that she feels right at home.

🏈 BOUNCE BACK TIME

No doubt about it. Last week was a punch in the mouth.

Best way to respond to a punch in the mouth? Get back up and punch back.

The Cowboys have that bounce back opportunity this week with a trip to another Big 12 newcomer, Houston, on Saturday afternoon.

With two games left in the regular season, destiny is still in the hands of the Orange and Black as they are in a four-way tie for second place in the Big 12, with two teams that OSU has already beaten in 2023.

The Cowboys sit at #24 and #25 in this week’s college football national polls.

Rashod Owens is having a breakout season for the Cowboys.

The San Antonio, Texas native is leading Oklahoma State in receiving yards and is second in receptions 10 games into his redshirt junior season.
