🔺 Punch That Ticket. 75 out of 77. We’re not math majors, but pretty sure that’s a solid percentage.
For the 75th time in the 77 tries, the OSU men’s golf team punched their ticket to the NCAA Championships with a third place finish at the Rancho Santa Fe Regional held at The Farms Golf Club.
The Cowboys, who have an NCAA-best 16 regional titles, finished at 5-over 845 and tied with West Virginia at the par-70, 6,917-yard layout. The Cowboys closed with a 1-under 279 on Wednesday. Oklahoma finished at 837, California posted an 843 total and North Florida finished at 850 to grab the regional's other qualifying spots.
Jonas Baumgartner logged yet another top-10 showing in reigonal action, finishing at 2-under 208 on the week, good for a tie for fourth place.
Baumgartner was joined in the top 10 by fifth year Rayhan Thomas, who shared seventh place after closing with a 70 of his own to finish at 210.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
🔺 We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Horse. You can’t teach experience, right?
Well, Coach Lutz and his crew added a lot of experience this week with the addition of veteran big man, Abou Ousmane, a 6-foot-10 Xavier transfer who started his career at North Texas, and will play his fifth and final season for the Cowboys.
Ousmane started 29 games for Xavier this past season and was the team's leading rebounder (6.4 rpg). He also averaged 6.7 points and 1.2 blocks while ranking among the nation's best offensive rebounders, according to advanced metrics.
Prior to Xavier, Ousmane played three years at North Texas, earning third All-Conference USA honors in his final go-around while averaging 11.1 points and 6.0 rebounds and totaling 45 blocks.
🔺 One More Day. Tomorrow, the journey officially begins.
All season long has led to this week in Stillwater. Another NCAA regional. Another opportunity to try and battle their way to OKC.
Entering this season, the Cowgirls have reached a program record four straight trip Women’s College World Series. The hunt for five begins on Friday when Kentucky faces Michigan at 2pm, followed by OSU and Northern Colorado at 4:30 p.m.
🎥 OSUMAX: NEVER ENOUGH BARRY!
The wait is over. It’s time to enjoy the one of the
best Pokes of all time, Barry Sanders.
Last night, OSUMax unveiled the first part of a brand new
original film, Barry Sanders: Out of Nowhere.
Out of Nowhere tells the story of how Barry became Barry,
weaving through his childhood in Wichita and the pivotal
moments that shaped his legendary career.
Through exclusive interviews with his family, close friends,
former teammates, coaches and Barry himself,
Barry Sanders: Out of Nowhere provides an
