Even before this week, the Pokes had already set a school record with 11 former OSU student-athletes set to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris kicking off this weekend.

Well, let’s make that a dozen.

🏀 IN THE HUDDLE

✍️ SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED

The 20th player in program history is now officially a New York Met as two-way star Carson Benge signed his contract with his new professional organization.

A two-way standout for the Cowboys, Benge has played in 119 games over two seasons in an OSU uniform and posted a .339 batting average to go along with 41 doubles, 25 home runs and 107 RBIs.

On the mound, Benge has made 28 appearances, 14 of those as a starter, and is 5-4 with three saves and a 4.88 ERA. In 72 innings of work, the right-hander has tallied 79 strikeouts, and opponents hit just .232 against him.

That’s right, only SIX Saturdays separate us from reuniting with
the OSU Family at Boone Pickens Stadium.

One of the most exciting players entering 2024 might be #6 Lyrik Rawls
as the rising junior started the first three games of last year before
suffering a season-ending injury.

In those three games, Rawls racked up 20 tackles and sat amongst
the team leaders in that category at the time of his injury.

Now, he’s back, healthy and ready to show out in 2024.

With Carson Benge signing his first pro deal, he joins a lineage of OSU alums that have been a part of the Mets organization.
