🔼 Born To Run. The miles have been put in. The shoes have been broken in. It’s officially go time.
Just a few days after being ranked among the top-three programs in the country, the men’s and women’s cross country squads will kick off their 2023 seasons at the OSU Preview this morning at the OSU Greiner Family Cross Country Course.
First race is set for 8:15 am, so you have time to run out for a “breakfast meeting”… don’t worry, we’ll right you a note.
The Cowboys come in at No. 2 after finishing the 2022 season tied with Northern Arizona atop the leaderboard at the NCAA Championships in Stillwater. OSU returns three cross country All-Americans to the lineup in Alex Maier (5th at NCAAs), Fouad Messaoudi (12th ) and Victor Shitsama (31st ).
The Cowgirls enter the 2023 season ranked No. 3, their highest preseason ranking in program history after earning their first team trophy at the NCAA Championships in 2022. The two-time defending Big 12 Champions return three-time cross country All-American Taylor Roe and six runners from the 2022 NCAA squad. Cross country All-American Molly Born also returns to the fold after missing last season. Born finished 16th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2019.
🔼 Three’s Company. Make it three straight for the OSU women’s soccer team. This time, we can check road win off the list.
The Cowgirls kept up their dominating ways with a third straight shutout and have now outscored the past three opponents by a tally of 14-0.
Junior Hannah Chance scored her seventh goal of the season, while Ellie Geoffrey and Xcaret Pineda each scored their first to lift the Cowgirl offense, who entered the evening ranked in the top-10 in the country in scoring.
OSU returns to Stillwater on Sunday to host the Bears of Central Arkansas at Neal Patterson. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m… we’ll see you there!
🔼 Let’s Link Up. All summer long, OSU has been proving weekend after weekend that it’s a #GolfSchool.
That hashtag goes for the women’s squad as well after making another run to the NCAA Championships last spring.
Today, they’ll kick off their fall season at historic Pebble Beach at the Carmel Cup. Not a bad way to start off a new season, huh?
