🔼 Double Deuce. For the eighth time in the past nine seasons, the Cowboys find themselves in the CFP Rankings.

OSU is one of five Big 12 teams ranked in the initial poll and is joined by No. 7 Texas, No. 9 Oklahoma, No. 21 Kansas and No. 23 Kansas State.

The College Football Playoff Rankings will be announced every Tuesday until the CFP selection show in December, following the conference championship games.

🔼 Crown Him. The wait is over.

After 10 years with five different teams, Andrew Heaney has his ring.

Heaney, who tossed five masterful innings in Game 4, helped the Texas Rangers to the 2023 World Series Championship, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-1, in the best-of-seven series.

On the season, the veteran southpaw made 34 appearances, 28 of which were starts for the Rangers. He went 10-6 with a 4.15 ERA in 147.1 innings of work, the second most of his career.

In the postseason, he made five appearances including three starts with 11 innings pitched and a 1-0 record.

🔼 Dunk You Very Much. The fellas are ready to roll.

OSU gave fans a sneak peek of the 2023-24 squad on Wednesday night with a 95-53 exhibition win over Oklahoma Baptist.

True freshman combined to score 55 of the 95 points. Rookies Justin McBride (game-high 19 points), Eric Dailey Jr. (14 points on 7-of-7 shooting), Brandon Garrison (11 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks) and Connor Dow (11 points on 3-of-4 three-point shooting) all made strong impressions in their unofficial Cowboy debuts.

Veteran guard Bryce Thompson (10 points) and Jacksonville graduate transfer Mike Marsh (10 points, eight rebounds) also finished in double-figures for OSU, which won its 56th straight exhibition game at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Helped by eight dunks, OSU shot 56.3 percent from the field while holding the visitors to 27.3 percent.
