Third times a charm?
Not exactly sure if that’s how you’d describe it, but it’s taken three stops for Xavier Benson to finally feel at home on the college football field. His journey has been anything but easy.
In his three on the field seasons in college Benson has 253 tackles. In his first season in Stillwater, Benson tallied 76 tackles, which is the most from any returning defender in 2023.
His first season as a Cowboy taught him several lessons that he hopes fuels himself and the team this season.

🔼 Game Week Is HERE!. It’s been over nine months, but the Cowgirls are ready to take the pitch for the 2023 season opener.
Over the weekend, the squad got in a great showing against Mizzou, coming away with a 2-0 victory at Patterson Stadium.
Next up? The real deal. The season opener on Thursday at 7 p.m. Be there.
🔼 Sights, Sounds and Slams. Each summer, athletic departments around the country send teams overseas for an experience of a lifetime. By rule, every NCAA program can be a part of one of these trips every four years.
While the sights and sounds are something that marvel the student-athletes, many folks want to know about the games, see their favorite players and get a peek behind the curtain at what’s to come.
Traditionally, not many schools have put out information. Luckily for you all, OSU isn’t following that protocol.
Instead, OSU Max has FULL game video from all three games of the foreign tour, including two full game broadcasts, with play-by-play, color commentary, great stories and much more from Cowboy legends.
Sit back and enjoy as the Orange and Black play against some of the best professionals that Spain and surrounding countries have to offer.

🔼 Finishing Strong. The Cowgirls finished their tour up and down the coasts of Italy and Greece in a strong way, taking in some of the best sights you can find and even throwing in a little Olympic flavor to their trip.
Get a sneak peek of what the squad might look like this winter, see some unforgettable sights and have a few laughs with the girls.
🔼 Pro Pokes. At this point, we’ve gotten used to it.
Come to Stillwater. Have a ton of success. Dominate the pro levels.
It’s a story old as time and we’re seeing it across nearly all sports at this point.
Another week, more former Pokes showing out.

🔼 Listen, He Said. One of the hottest names in country music is on tour right now and over the weekend, he spread a message we love to hear…
“Go Pokes.”
🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 19 DAYS
Just close your eyes for a minute. You’re a starting QB in the Big 12.
You snap the ball. Now open your eyes and you see Emmanuel Ogbah breathing down your neck. How big do your eyes get?
That was pretty much every opposing QB during Ogbah’s time in Stillwater and in 2015, he ratcheted to a different level setting a program record with 19 QB hurries.
Now, the former Cowboy and eight-year NFL pro is looking to have a huge bounce back year with the Miami Dolphins after his 2022 season was hampered with injuries.
🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA
Captain Clutch. Replacing 16 goals will not be an easy task for the OSU soccer team this fall.
When you lose several key cogs to multiple levels of the field, it’s never easy, but the Orange and Black don’t rebuild, they reload and having someone with the clutch gene like Gracie Bindbeutel surely helps.
Last fall, as a freshman, Gracie was third on the team with four goals, two of which were of the game-winning variety.
Can you name the last time a Cowgirl freshman scored multiple game-winning goals in her debut season?
Think you got it?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER
Answer: Grace Yochum.
Let’s be honest, there really wasn’t much doubt on this one, huh?
Yochum, who became the program’s all-time leading scorer last fall and is now the program’s Player Development Coordinator, scored two goals during her freshman season (2018).
🤠 Let’s start the week strong, ya’ll!
