🔼 Viva La Vaqueros! Sure, our Cowboys are getting to see a ton of incredible sights and bond with each other while in Spain.

But yesterday, it was all business as the fellas took the court for the first time together against the Cape Verde Senior National Team, a squad that is headed to the FIBA World Cup this fall.

The Orange and Black came out with a tough 86-79 and we’ve got all the action on OSUMax.com.

The rest of their schedule in Spain includes:
Aug. 9 – Train ride to Valencia; Traditional Paella lunch
Aug. 10 – Game No. 2
Aug. 11 – Fun in Valencia

Aug. 13 – Explore Olympic venues on Montijuic Hill; Game No. 3

🔼 Praise for Presley. Another day, more preseason recognition for the Cowboys.

Presley finished last season with 67 catches for 813 yards, both of which led the team, and his 1,203 all-purpose yards were 440 more than any other Cowboy. He also ranked among the top five players in the Big 12 in 2023 in receptions per game, receiving yards per game and combined kick return yards.

🔼 There Goes That Man Again. As if we didn’t know this was coming, but Christian Encarnacion-Strand is surging for the Cincinnati Reds as they try to hunt a spot in the 2023 MLB playoffs.

The Reds are sitting just 1.5 games back of the lead in the National League Central and currently hold a one-game lead for the last wild card spot.

Encarnacion-Strand has been front and center since his call-up in mid-July as the former Cowboy has now played in 20 games, hitting safely in 12 of those contests.

On Monday night, he launched his second MLB home run to life the Reds to a critical 5-2 victory over the Miami Marlins.

🔼 No Surprise Here... We knew our guy would bounce back, but now the rest of the country is seeing it.

This past weekend, Cade Cunningham led a Select Team against Team USA in a scrimmage during Team USA Training Camp and received rave reviews from NBA Champion Head Coach Steve Kerr.

“He looked great…He’s a guy who can really control the game from the point guard spot with his size and physicality.”

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 24 DAYS

Sept. 4, 2010.
9:10 left in the second quarter.
Brandon Weeden finds Justin Blackmon for a 42-yd TD and a 24-10 OSU lead against Washington State.

That lasted until Dec. 3, 2011, a 44-10 victory over Oklahoma.

Over that stretch, Weeden would put together a streak of 24 consecutive games with a TD pass, a program record that still stands 12 years later.

During that streak, the OSU legend threw for 68 TDs in total, 36 of those into the hands of Blackmon.

Apparently first impressions are pretty important for rising sophomore Ollie Gordon.

Well, at least that’s what you gotta think after the season he put together last fall in his first year in the Orange and Black.

The talented running back finished last season as the Cowboys’ third leading rusher with 308 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with two receiving scores in 13 games.

Entering 2023 the Fort Worth, Texas native is ready for a bigger role and work load.
