Cowboy Brew 7/22: The Running Man

Record Setting Weekend For Yanouri

Good Morning Pokes. Well, maybe Forrest was right all along….

Ok, maybe that doesn’t apply for most of us, but it sure did for one of our own this weekend!

What a Brew we have for you today! Check It Out Below!

👟 The Running Man
⚾️ Staring With A Bang
⏱ Countdown To Kickoff: The Big 4-0!
🤠 And so much more!

👟 THE RUNNING MAN

While the rest of us were kicking our feet up playing a little more EA Sports College Football 25, Mehdi Yanouri was busy doing what he does best, blistering the track.

Over the weekend, Yanouri torched the track in Belgium to the tune of 1:45.57 in the 800m to become the first Cowboy to ever break 1:46 in the event.

⚾️ STARTING WITH A BANG

It was quite a start to the second half of the season for former Cowboy Hueston Morrill, as the right-hander tossed a scoreless ninth inning to cap off a combined no-hitter for the Hudson Valley Renegades in a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Rome Braves.

How did that game end? Oh, just a walk-off HR from some guy named Riggio, you might have heard of him too.

⛳️ WHAT A WEEKEND

The Open Championship is not for the faint of heart.

Former Cowboy Alex Noren was up to the task, firing a 1-over to finish tied for 13th at the prestigious event.

With the finish, Noren recorded his first year with multiple top-15 finishes at major championships after he also grabbed a 12th-place finish at the PGA Championship earlier this year.

🤔 COWBOY TRIVIA

Mehdi Yanouri bested his own school record in the 800m over the weekend, becoming the first Cowboy to break 1:46 in the event.

Last spring, he was the first in program history to break 1:47 as well.
