🎥 OSUMAX: THE COWGIRL WAY
All weekend long at the NCAA Regionals, we heard players and coaches
alike talk about the importance of “The Cowgirl Way” to the
recent success of the OSU softball program.
What exactly is the Cowgirl Way? What does it mean to the program?
OSUMax went in depth to explain the culture that
makes the program so special.

🔺 The Fine Nine. OSU hasn’t even played a single postseason game yet, but the Cowboys are already piling up the hardware.
On Monday, nine players earned All-Big 12 recognition from the league’s coaches for their performances this spring.
Highlighting the list is outfielder Carson Benge, who was named to the All-Big 12 First Team for the second-straight year. Joining Benge on the All-Big 12 First Team is outfielder Zach Ehrhard and starting pitcher Brian Holiday.
Four Cowboys are on the All-Big 12 Second Team as infielder Colin Brueggemann, outfielder Nolan Schubart, starting pitcher Sam Garcia and relief pitcher Robert Cranz earned that distinction. Both Schubart and Brueggemann collected all-conference honors for the second consecutive season.
Rounding out OSU's list of all-conference performers are Aidan Meola and Tommy Molsky, who were named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.
🔺 Country’s Best. After another weekend of showing the country what we’ve seen all year, Lexi Kilfoyl continues to be listed among the nation’s best.
After earning a spot as a top 10 finalist for the Softball Player of the Year, the veteran hurler was named a top three finalist for the award.
She is the first player in program history to be named a top three finalist for the award.
The Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, Kilfoyl ranks fourth in the nation in ERA (1.08) and leads the Big 12 in ERA, victories (24), and shutouts (six) while ranking second in the conference in strikeouts (140).
In the NCAA Stillwater Regional, Kilfoyl went 3-0 and maintained a 0.74 ERA in 19.0 IP as she only gave up 10 hits all weekend to go with zero walks and 21 strikeouts.
🔺 Rolling On. As most other OSU grads are enjoying the first few days of post-grad life, Tyler Zink thinks he’ll stay in Stillwater a little longer.
The 24th-ranked player in the country advanced to the NCAA Singles Second Round on Monday with a straight set defeat of 21st-ranked Garrett Johns, 6-3, 7-6(8).
Zink will play in the round of 32 against Harvard's No. 15 Cooper Williams tomorrow with a time to be announced. Doubles action will also begin today with Zink and Isaac Becroft in the doubles draw against Georgia Tech's Marcus McDaniel and Keshav Chopra.
🔺 Joining The Party. Zink wasn’t the only Poke to advance in the NCAA Singles Championship as Ange Oby Kajuru of the women’s squad women's tennis team advanced to the Round of 32 as well.
Entering as the No. 3 overall seed in the 64-player field, Kajuru defeated No. 33 Emma Charney of USC, 6-3, 7-5, to advance to the second round in her first NCAA Singles Championship appearance. She’s back on the court today at 3 pm for a chance to advance to the Sweet 16.
Kajuru and teammates Anastasiya Komar will begin play in the doubles draw on Tuesday as the No. 2 overall seed, opening against No. 21 Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura at 7 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the GTC.
🔺 The Fam Gets Bigger. The OSU women’s hoops squad got a little bigger this past weekend.
Not only in numbers, but literally as Coach Hoyt and crew bolstered the front court with Rhode Island transfer, Ténin Magassa.
Magassa joins the Cowgirl program after spending the past two seasons at Rhode Island. The Morsang-Sur-Orge, France native was tabbed as a preseason Atlantic 10 All-Conference third-team member prior to her junior and senior campaigns.
A 6-6 center, Magassa played in 28 games last year, making 12 starts. She averaged 7.0 points and 4.6 on the year, while blocking a team-best 58 shots and helping the Rams to 21 wins..
🎥 OSUMAX: THIS IS US
How did another Super Regional berth happen? Well, if you ask the Cowgirls, Broken Bow is up on that list.
It’s become a yearly tradition: the venture to Broken Bow.
The Cowgirls headed on their annual pre-NCAA Tournament trip last week to get away and recharge before today’s regional kicked off.
Go inside the trip with sophomore Haidyn Sokoloski and her teammates as the Cowgirls celebrate another national seed.
🎥 OSUMAX: MORE BARRY COMING AT YA!
The wait is over. It’s time to enjoy the one of the
best Pokes of all time, Barry Sanders.
Last week, OSUMax unveiled the first part of a brand new
original film, Barry Sanders: Out of Nowhere.
This week? Part ✌️ comes at ya!
Out of Nowhere tells the story of how Barry became Barry,
weaving through his childhood in Wichita and the pivotal
moments that shaped his legendary career.
Through exclusive interviews with his family, close friends,
former teammates, coaches and Barry himself,
Barry Sanders: Out of Nowhere provides an
unprecedented glimpse into the Cowboy icon.
