🎥 OSUMAX: A TRUE COWBOY

Success on the baseball diamond is nothing new for OSU.

The man who built that foundation on which the Cowboys stand
today is none other than Gary Ward.

There’s no better way to get ready for another regional in Stillwater
than checking out a three-part sitdown with Coach Ward.

🔺 Showtime In Stilly. The work has been put in. The trophy has been lifted.

Now, it’s showtime.

For the 49th time in program history, the Cowboys kick off NCAA regional action when they take to O’Brate Stadium at 6 pm to battle with Niagara in the weekend opener.

The winner will take on the Florida/Nebraska winner on Saturday.

🔺 Dueling At Night. Two of the country’s best pitchers took the circle on Thursday night and boy, did they duel it out.

Lexi Kilfoyl was outstanding yet again, allowing just two hits in six innings of work, but #4 Florida squeaked out a run in the fifth inning and held on for a 1-0 win over the Cowgirls in the WCWS opener for both squads.

OSU will now take on Stanford tonight at 8:30 p.m. CT in an elimination game on ESPN2.

🔺 Eye On The Prize. Just over a month into his tenure, OSU head wrestling coach David Taylor and his staff get their first chance to coach their wrestlers this weekend as several Cowboys look to secure World Team membership at the U20 World Team Trials and U23 Nationals in Geneva, Ohio.

The group consists of eleven current and future Cowboys, including seven registered in the U23 freestyle division, three competing in the U20 freestyle brackets and a single Greco-Roman entrant for the U20 age group.

The event features a full challenge tournament and best-of-three championship series. Each U20 bracket has a seat in the championship series reserved for winners at last month's U.S. Open, however, the U23 division does not. This weekend's champions in the U20 competition will seal their place at the World Championships this fall, while the U23 winners do not automatically make Team USA due to the possibility of age-eligible athletes on the Senior National Team electing to take the spot.

🔺 Earning His Spot. Just a few weeks after concluding his OSU career, Jonas Baumgartner is now planning his future on the course.

The senior finished his final season at No. 16 with the finalization of the 2024 PGA Tour University Ranking.

With his standing, Baumgartner finishes among the group at Nos. 11-25, which provides fully exempt membership on PGA TOUR Americas for 2024, as well as an exemption for Second Stage of 2024 PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.

A native of Bielefeld, Germany, he earned his second career victory this past spring for the Cowboys, claiming medalist honors at the Pauma Valley Invitational. As a junior, Baumgartner earned honorable mention All-America status and was a first-team All-Big 12 pick.
