🎧 OSU MAX PODCASTS

If you had one way to describe the run that OSU golf alums are on, it would have to be: 🔥🔥🔥

That’s exactly why Deion and Clint spent this week’s episode of the Old Pokes Show talking about not only Wyndham Clark’s big win on the course this past weekend, but the recent run of success by OSU alums with Sports Information Director Ryan Cameron.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Smart Move. On the eve of last night’s NBA Draft, one of our own learned he was headed to a new team. Instead of being nearly 1,700 miles from Stillwater, OSU legend Marcus Smart will now be less than 500 miles away as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The 10-year NBA veteran who won NBA Defensive Player of the Year accolades last year spent his entire career with the Boston Celtics, but was swapped in a three-team trade late on Wednesday night.

🔼 Golden Pipes. One of our friends is moving. The other one is setting up even more hardware in his house. The Voice of the Cowboys, Dave Hunziker, who will enter his 22nd season with OSU this fall, was named the 2022 NSMA Oklahoma Sportscaster of the Year.

Hunziker, who has been a part of Cowboy households since 2001, is taking home the honor for the second time in his career.

🔼 Broken Record. Vintage records are collectible items these days. For OSU’s Gabija Galvydyte, she’s collecting broken records.

The rising senior tracked down Sinclaire Johnson’s four-year old school record in the 800m, blistering the track with a time of 2:00.29 at the European Team Championships this week.

Galvydyte is coming off a year where she captured two First Team All-American records, including finish second in the country at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships earlier this month.

🔼 Top 40 Hits. Tough to beat the stretch that OSU golf alums are on right now. You can hear about it in this week’s episode of the Old Pokes Show, but also, can we check out the graphic above?

Six Cowboys in the top-100 and three in top-40!

Seriously, how cool is this video?!?

🤠 A LASTING LEGACY

Boone Pickens’ legacy will impact generations of Cowboys and Cowgirls to come.

He’s done it for years and years, and he continues to overwhelm us all with his generosity.

That generosity continued this week as the University announced that it recently received a $120 million gift from the T. Boone Pickens Foundation.

Pickens was a legendary energy executive, proud Poke, and transformative philanthropist whose giving to Oklahoma State now approaches $650 million.

🏈 COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF: 71 DAYS

Kendal Daniels made quite an impact in his redshirt freshman season with the Cowboys last fall.

On his way to Freshman All-American accolades and Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year honors, Daniels piled up 71 total tackles.

The Beggs, Okla. native played in all 13 games in 2022,s tarting five times and finished the year ranking fourth among all FBS freshmen with three INTs.
