Pokes Defend Home Turf; Go 6-0 In Home Contests

Good Morning Pokes. While most of the country was wearing green this past weekend, it was America’s brightest orange that took over Stillwater.

It was a weekend full of sunshine and wins!

We’ll recap it all and much, much more! Check it out below!

🤠 And so much more!

Oklahoma State graduate student Ayumi Miyamoto is finishing up her fifth season in Stillwater.

The Chiba, Japan native has earned All-American and All-Big 12 honors during her first four seasons as a Cowgirl. She helped lead the program to the ITA Indoor Championship earlier this year and is hoping to bring home the NCAA Title later this spring inside the Greenwood Tennis Center.

Learn more about Ayumi in this episode of Center Court.

🔺 Feelin’ Golden. It was only right that on St. Patrick’s the OSU softball squad found their pot of gold.

The Cowgirls yet again found the win column all weekend, sweeping Big 12 foe UCF to the tune of 2-0, 10-4 and 6-4. Dating back to last month, OSU has now won 17 of its past 18 games.

🔺 Wonder Women. And the train just keeps rollin’ on.

Two more conference matches. Two more wins. Two more sweeps.

Just another weekend at the office for the #1-ranked OSU women’s tennis squad who improved to 17-0 on the season with a 4-0 sweep of TCU and a clean 7-0 victory over Baylor.

The Cowgirls are now just one win shy of the best start in program history (1981).

🔺 Comeback Cowboys. Never say die.

Facing a top-15 opponent is tough enough.
Being down 2-0 adds another level of difficulty.

That was the situation that the OSU men’s tennis squad faced this weekend, but the heart of the Cowboys was on display as the Cowboys reeled off four straight points to come away with the 4-2 home victory.

With the win, the Pokes improved to 13-4 and dropped its second top-15 team of the season.

🔺 Battling the Best. Last season, former Poke Wyndham Clark burst onto the scene with two PGA wins, including his first major victory.

Now, Clark is continuously battling amongst the top of the leaderboard, including at this past weekend’s Players Championship

The former OSU standout nearly holed out a putt on the 72nd hole to send the event into a playoff, but it rimmed out and gave Clark his third top-2 finish in his past five starts.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 32.

The highest single-season win total actually came the year after the best start in program history as the 1982 Cowgirls went 32-10 en route to a second straight Big Eight Conference Championship.

🤠 Let’s have a great week, y’all!
